Zenimax or Bethesda? [merged similar topics]

Yes that's what i thought too, but I'd still like an official comment by Bethesda. If they've already made one, does anyone have a link please?

While I'm somewhat interested in this MMO based on the Elder Scrolls, I really do hope that Bethesda hasn't decided it won't be making traditional singleplayer games anymore.

I've NEVER liked the concept of multiplayer games, especially MMO games. I consider games a form of escapism, last thing I need in my game is other people.
The story and sense of being a hero will NEVER be as good in an MMO as it would in a dedicated singleplayer game.

I am planning on checking this game out simply because it's an Elder Scrolls game, but please Bethesda, don't let this be the end of TES singleplayer games :-(

Hopefully we'll soon get an official answer from Bethesda to this question.

Come on,read up and listen to what they have been saying for the past five days.I swear, some people really don't know how to use the interwebs.

https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/198430022162317312: "The MMO does not effect what BGS is doing now or in the future."

It's nearly three years old at this point, but http://www.bethblog.com/2009/08/17/clarifying-about-next-elder-scrolls-game-mmo-etc/ also discusses the matter:
In regards to the MMO comment, he was asked if there was “any chance of an Elder Scrolls MMO” and he replied — in a joking fashion — by saying “I guess there’s a chance.” To be clear, Todd and his team do not make MMOs, for any franchise, at all. We have another division, ZeniMax Online Studios, which is lead by Matt Firor, and they are working on an MMO. They have not said anything about what game they are making. When ZeniMax Online is ready to show what they are up to, we’ll let everyone know. Until then we aren’t going to provide hints or speculate on what they’re doing either

If anything i would think it will actually solidify the single player TES games Bethesda makes, they can say " ok the fans have an online TES, so we can continue TES just as we have all along.

Iam worried too. Because look at what BioWare did to knights of the old republic. I loved playing that game and now that series is gone and now it's no more and I can't afford to buy a new pc just to play a game and I am not a fan of pvp, and due my dyslexia it is hard for me to play computer games. The fact that Shivering Isles, Fallout 3 + All DLC, and Skyrim + Dawnguard all came out during Elder Scrolls Online's development already proved that to me.

Also, you know, the fact that ZeniMax Online Studios is developing this, and not Bethesda Game Studios.

Maybe the title should be fixed to say future games to.

People question it. The guys give us an answer. People still don't believe. There's nothing else to convince us lol. What more could they do?

Same history as always.
If he says that TESO will not affect development, they will say they dont buy it or they dont belive it.
If he says nothing, they will say Oh you see? They are not clarifing nothing.
So... besides its clear they will not conflict... people just want to keep worryng.. A Shame.

For real, they were already planning the MMO before Oblivion came out.

Why?
Because with that guideline we'll get beautiful surroundings and somewhat 'awesome' events but with the cost of sensible writing(FO3 proved this) and Fallout isn't about epic stuff like holding a savage tribe at bay with a heroic last stand, but it's a story of progress, human stubborness, stuff like that.

I couldn't care less about an MMO.. but this tweet is "face-saving" .. If an in house studio is designing an MMO based on the world which plays a prominent role in the franchise of another in house studio both of them will influence each other.. Even by tweeting that it didn't is a sign of this..

Dawnguard is out?
LOLwut.. How the hell did you come to that conclusion..?

People question it. The guys give us an answer. People still don't believe. There's nothing else to convince us lol. What more could they do?
See my answer ^ It's marketing. There are signals that people are woried about someone tweets about it.. It's PR (bad PR) but common practice.
He is, in someway, 100% correct.. Both studios are working independently from one another.. But indirectly there will always be influence... TES is a / if not the flagship title not just for Bethesda but for Zenimax in general.
I for one, think the influence on the Single player games will be next to none, in gameplay aspects, so in that respect I can understand the tweet.. (next solo game will already be in te early stages of development)
(NEXTEPICTHINGY though is not one of the best terms one could use)

If you read Nell's post, he specifically referred to Dawnguard as being out.
