I just registered my new account just to tell you my opinion of achievements in this game and in general. I have played much online FPS shooters and in those games they are fine for some. They may challenge you to complete hard missions or goal objectives to get a new weapon or something, but I think that bringing achievements into Fallout: New Vegas is a bit too much. Why? One thing why Fallout is so good game, is the atmosphere and mood. If you are in a dark cave with just a spare ammo and bad equipment, a pop-up achievement totally breaks the mood for me and that makes the game look really bad. These kind of achievements are generally for casual gamers, because if you are skilled and talented player, you don't need any kind of pop-up to tell you that fact. This is ridiculous in a RPG-game. The stupidest thing is that very often they are soooooo easy to goal. Like "run 100 feets" or "reload your weapon ten times". Don't you think that these kind of things are totally for children, who actually are not even allowed to buy the game because of their age. What a mess.
So my bottom line. Please Obsidian, create an option to turn achievements off. Just please, I beg you. There is already many other people thinking the same as me.
