after long contemplation, i think that i did enjoy fallout 3

For Bethesda's defense it was the FIRST fallout game they made. People make mistakes. Just because the didn they didnt hit the head on the nail the first time doenst mean you single them out.

I don't intend to, but only in defense of New Vegas, which they single out as if they made a mistake, which they didn't.

I won't sit idly by and let people bash Obsidian on the grounds that they didn't do the world right to Fallout, which they did, much better than Bethesda did.

Just because I critisize a couple of aspects of the game (sandbox and environment) doesnt mean I reject Obsidian. I actually hope they're working on Fallout 4. I seriously doubt there will be another "oasis of green" in the next game.

I never saw the "Oasis of green" you speak of, only at Vault 22, unless you mean the occasional cactus or patch of dying grass, and if you are, you are severely exaggerating.

bethesda and obsidian both made good games, fallout 1 and 2 were amazing, so was fallout 3, and NV, if you like one better then the other then thats your opinion and there isnt a right one. although i felt that NV didnt have the same feel of the prior games, i do know that they were more similar to the first two, and do understand that it is just my opinion, and that no one is wrong for having another.

It should be, more than 200 years will be passed at that time, world cannot stagnate in that atmosphere forever
I don't let previous games completely determine the future of an entire series. If that were the case, Command and Conquer 3 + Kane's Wrath expansion pack wouldn't have been the best RTS game ever made and I'm as hardcoe of C&C player as you can possibly get.

Command And Conquer 3 and KW didnt break the Tiberium Saga Lore, it was consistent at always, since that I played all the C&C, the history makes sense

House stoped some bombs from hitting Nevada,
And some areas are still HIGHLY radioactive, so no, its not a "Oasis in green"

You mean exactly how it was in the original games? The difference is the lack of destruction, that being limited to only the Strip and the Dam.

i actually would like to see fallout 4 take place in the deep south, and re imagine the area as almost jungle like in some areas.

I was talking more about the gameplay design, the lore is very consistent. But with story + gamepley, it blew away tiberian sun and CC1. There still isn't a game like CC3+kane's wrath out there. It was way ahead of its time.

I don't see how this relates to Fallout 3, because it did break lore.

Oh yes, the gameplay was better, I dont know why the Westwood fanbase scream too loud, Heck, they do have Kane with the same actor, as always

Because it was the gameplay design that was so revolutionary. Do you want to see the most nailbiting exciting game replays ever? Download Kane's Warth pro replays. Because the strategies are endless in that game, based on the game design, it was great.

Fallout 3 wasn't great because of the story....but more of the setting and the visual story. Like a moving painting.

Fallout New Vegas vs Fallout 3 with my main do it all charater

Fallout 3 all DLC 281.41.23 quests 57 vs FNV with 2 DLC 275.29.24 quests 110 and i played only one ending so far

FNV unique weapons texture/mesh? are unique like in Oblivion vs Fallout 3 they are not

Maybe it's all in our heads....

Oh yes, the setting was a very nice touch, the visuals were astounding. But it wasn't a Fallout setting, and I play Fallout games for the story, as a matter of fact. I loved Fallout 3, and i am proud to have the GOTY in my steam library, but I don't play it as Fallout, because it suits me better to think of it, and to play it, as an Action-Adventure Shooter game.

Not even Joe Kucane (Kane) could save CC4......crap is too good of a compliment to give to that game.

Of course not. The entire Mojave is an "Oasis of Green" instead a "depressing sea of brown." They need to be careful not to damage Fallout's setting too much because then they might have to change the name of the game.

The reason one of the devs gave for making New Vegas unnaffected by the atomic war is that they felt the environment of the last game was too depressing and that they wanted to see green vegetation instead of brown. I bull$#it you not. Did they forget they're making a Fallout game?

ummmm what? Yeah, that depression factor wasn't there for me. I need the depression factor, my life is just too happy right now! :sadvaultboy: I didn't feel like I survived anything, and if nothing was destroyed by bombs wtf is with all of the mutated creatures? I love FNV, but it kinda feels like a Sid Meyer's civilization game with story.

yeah, they are good games, but neither are really true sequels to fallout 2. if anything i would like them to make another Isometric game, even if it isnt a big budget title, and just a small project.

Actually, in my opinion, New Vegas is an acceptable sequel to Fallout 2.

The only things that werent destroyed by bombs were Vegas and the Dam, most everything else got scorched by the bombs that got through, and there are plenty of radioactive places, much more than in Fallout or Fallout 2, with the consideration of irradiated drinking water and food.

3 had fun and exiting moments like the escape from raven rock and Tranquility lane.

Yes, tranquility lane... Isn't that the part that most people skip by just going to the abandoned house and playing the stupid music puzzle?

but it didnt feel like a full sequel ( no i am not one of those people who say "it shuda ben d el c").

Well duh, it's Fallout: New Vegas, not Fallout: 4. :P

\Fallout New Vegas added tons of much needed features, but it just didn't have the same effect Fallout 3 did. hopefully with Fallout 4 they will learn from there mistakes and keep the improvements to make a game even more stunning then its predecessors.

That'd be a nice thing, but I very highly doubt it'll happen like that. I mean, Skyrim is ditching stats outright, and that's not a good trend at all.

Of course not. The entire Mojave is an "Oasis of Green" instead a "depressing sea of brown." They need to be careful not to damage Fallout's setting too much because then they might have to change the name of the game.

What. If the Mojave is an Oasis of Green, I'm Godzilla with a bow tie.

To be blunt, after two hundred years from the war, life should be moving on. That Fo3 looked more like a decade after the war was one of its flaws with worldbuilding, not its strengths.

To me, it's a complete simulation.

This word, "simulation", it doesn't mean what you think it does.

Sure, sure, you keep thinking that, i find it a waste to try and debate with someone who starts or ends a statement with "lol", in all honesty.

I'm not going to lie, I chuckled a bit. How was it a simulation? The RPG mechanics are very watered down and the player character always becomes overpowered unless you severely gimp yourself, neither of these seem very realistic, let alone sim.
