ummmm what? Yeah, that depression factor wasn't there for me. I need the depression factor, my life is just too happy right now! :sadvaultboy: I didn't feel like I survived anything, and if nothing was destroyed by bombs wtf is with all of the mutated creatures? I love FNV, but it kinda feels like a Sid Meyer's civilization game with story.
This was explained way back in Fallout. West Tek, the developers of FEV, were directly hit by the atomic bombs, when that happened, FEV was released into earths atmosphere. Causing various mutations in many species. Cows naturally developing two head, geckos growing to child sizes as well as unique traits, IE gold-toned skin or fire breathing, Human DNA damage, Super Mutants, Deathclaws too probably. All in all, alot of the worlds creatures have history tied to the bombs. Also, who cares if it's not depressing? Fallout isn't a depressing series, it's supposed to be an experience in a post-war world. PLUS, when you factor in Mr. House and NCR, two factions attempting semblance of Pre-War order and safety, the region is largely advanced civility and culture wise.
@OP- Meh, different strokes for different folks, I like them both for their own reasons.
