After playing Skyrim, I can never go back and play...

Dragon Age (I or II...I could barely play II anyways, I kept tripping over cliches)

Dragon age II was IMO quite abominable, but the reason for so many cliches in DA:O was because they were there intentionally. The purpose of the whole setting is refining old fantasy cliches (or http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage) into a modern, dark fashion.

What Skyrim ruined for me, well, Oblivion I guess.

To be perfectly honest, I love Skyrim, but it hasn't ruined anything for me. I still spend lots of time on Oblivion, Fifa 12, BF3.

edit- I play more Fifa than anything really.

I can understand not wanting to play Dragon Age again. I tried Dragon Age: Origins and I thought it was awful.

Not wanting to play Oblivion, or Morrowind, on the other hand, is kind of silly. I like Metal Gear Solid 4, but that doesn't mean I won't play Metal Gear Solid 3.

I still play all of the TES series. Mainly because I like to mod my games on pc.

And I like to stick to lore. I am working silently on a mod for the community.

It will be a mod based on ranger style gameplay. Wolf companions, etc. (I will be posting in the mod section soon).

I wouldn't say that Skyrim has completely absorbed me to knock other games, but it sure is a hard lure.

It's like a candy you get in a box of them, and you can't finish the other candies, cuz that one you had tasted was so good.

Yum.

Several years ago I had the opportunity to play Morrowind. That game was WAY WAY WAY beyond my level of comprehension in video games (mainly because I was used to Nintendo and Sega Genesis). I played Morrowind only long enough to find my way into the very first town you get to before I had no clue what I was doing or how to even play the game.

Fast forward an amount of time and go through WoW, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Rift, LoTRo, City of Villains, Star Trek, and even Gothic 3...okay, now I have a basic concept of how these games work.

Skyrim came out and all of a sudden I'm immersed in a world that seems realistic, and allows my character to become ANYTHING I want it to be...Skyrim has ruined all other games for me simply due to the graphical realism and the simplistic nature of the controls and UI.

Oblivion with its level scaling makes it extremely difficult to get into, also the huge step back in archery would be unbearable. Skyrim lets me really roleplay in its world however it hasn't ruined other RPGs because I'l like a compelling story with deep characters from time to time (ala Dragon Age: Origins).

Completely ruined any skill I had at BF3, my KDR has been steadily dropping from a 1.7. Why can't we just use bow's and swords?!

I uninstalled FO3, FO:NV, DA:O and the Witcher 2 because I will never play them again after Skyrim.

Skyrim is the only game Skyrim has wrecked for me.

So much so I actually apprieciate DA:O, DAII, Oblivion and even all the Fables more, Don't get me wrong I still hate III and never intend to buy anything by LH again but it still has more well rounded fleshed out features and character depth then this, not to mention far less bugs.

Oblivion and modern games wrecked Morrowind for me though, if they do ever go back to some of the older systems it's merely an option, an "Old school" checkbox.

Skyrim hasn't wrecked much for me, in fact i have an on going Morrowind playthrough which i continue each weekend. The Elder Scrolls series however has ruined most other RPG's for me... since i started with Morrowind back in 2003 there has been no other RPG series that really compare to the Elder Scrolls for me, except for Fallout 3 and New Vegas for obvious reasons.

I guess "ruined" is the wrong word to use, i just don't enjoy other RPG games as much as The Elder Scrolls series. I hope that this series continues long into the future. Although the streamlining must stop or i my opinion might change.

The opposite.
Skyrim has made me appriciate my previous RPGs more due to its huge flaws.
Though, it still manages to be a fun game.

I have a similar issue, except kinda sorta the other way around but not really.
After playing New Vegas games like skyrim are dull to me now with a lack of characters I could have even the slightest joy in talking to and a lack of quests where I need to put any thought into it. All i'm really doing in skyrim is grind enemies that are always very similar and feel like npc's and not actual living things.

After playing Skyrim, I can never go back to Skyrim. Without a clearcut character system (Classes, attributes, races that matter), replaying feels rather meeeehhhhh to me. Plus after level 30 or so everything becomes insanely easy.

EDIT: Not to say it isn't a great game. I love it, it's the background on both my phone and computer. It is just the replay value is lacking for a TES game, at least for me. Maybe I'm just getting burnt out with TES in general

For me Skyrim has scrapped Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition.

I doubt it permanently ruined any games for me, but I do know playing Oblivion made it hard to go back and play Morrowind, and I'm sure now playing Skyrim will make it hard to go back and play Oblivion.

didnt scrapped anything. in fact I started Dragon Age: Origins again. Like a few posters already stated Skyrim is a pretty good open world game but is has no chance against Dragon Age`s storytelling and character depth. It simply wakes emotions when your a getting betrayed by your own brother and so on.
I think Skyrim`s biggest strength is also its biggest weakness. Skyrim lets you create a character exactly how you want, the downside is that the world doesnt react to you as it should. A point which games like Dragon Age are simply doing better.
but i will return to Skyrim when the CK is out and fantastic mods like Midas magic are more fleshed out

I just got done replaying Fallout 3. Skyrim actually made me appreciate so many things about F3 and I had a blast. Currently playing Skyrim again, but have some New Vegas on my sights for what I wil play next. I am really looking forward to real factions, real choices and interesting companions.

Skyrim gets a lot right but also gets a lot wrong. The world design is second to none though.

This, this, 1000 times this.

No RPG compares to Elder Scrolls, plain and simple, for me. I still play other RPG's, but I know not to expect the full experience that I get from an Elder Scrolls game.

The only thing I disagree with you on is the streamlining statement, I think that Skyrim is an improvement in virtually every area from previous games. There are really only 1 or 2 things that I can think of that past games did better, and they aren't even that serious for me.

After I play Skyrim, I suddenly realize how disproportional my Oblivion character is.

And I can't play it again. Especially after I get the taste of CPU bottleneck after Skyrim alleviated the issue
