Sad when someone dies but not surprising in the least little way of why/how she died.

She lived her life the way she wanted and suffered the consequences of her actions. There's nobody else to blame for that other than her.

I'm sorry, but I just can't feel sorry for her or feel saddened by it. We are all responsible for our own actions and choices in life. She made some bad choices and now she's dead because of them. Perhaps if she had died in a less self destructive manner, then I might feel different about it... but she didn't, and I don't.

Sorry to sound cold hearted, but she got what she asked for.

Couldn't give a hoot about her so called 'music' but is tragic since she just blindly didn't help herself when she clearly needed it.

Even more tragically, I saw it coming miles off since she lived so undoubtebly recklessly.

The same that die every day. Not sure of the exact statistics, but around 10,000 people or die every day. Most of whom are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, soldiers, doctors, kids, teens, and a good amount of them are generally contributing members of society.

So.. One addict dies. Am I supposed to be saddened by the loss of her life, which she basically brought upon herself, or the soldier who's on the frontlines, trying is very hardest to make it home to his family?

Unlike those "mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, soldiers, doctors, kids, teens", Amy was simply more famous. There are plenty of dead mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, soldiers, doctors, kids, teens who passed away and received a heartfelt goodbye. It's just that we don't have the capacity to care for anybody we don't know or don't know who exists.

...Her music? Which could be why people are mourning this rather than any other drug addict.

Sorry..?
There are a lot of extremely poor people who would have talent if they would get a chance at all to even sing a song, but they don't. They die by the age of 15 because they're that unhealthy and get barely any food.
Music is a joke so don't you dare talk about music. Producers know what kind of rythms make money or did you neve ever wonder why most albums have one or two good songs?
Because they use the good lyrics and rythms only sometimes so they don't run out of them or spoil people. But yes, of course hun, her music was mind blowing. Wished she would have been a role model for all those pathethic kids we have in our world and tell them not to take drugs, but oh well, at least she made good music, right?

Maybe chill the [censored] out? He was merely saying why people are mourning her, not saying she was better than everyone else who dies.

I'm pretty sure none of that post made sense.

I really enjoyed her last album, but is anyone really surprised by this? Every time I see something in the news about her addictions I keep wondering how long it would take before she's found dead. People have been worried about her ever since the irony of "Rehab".

Its kind of sad, but pales in comparison with whats happened in Norway.

This seems to be the consensus of everyone I've heard talking about it. Me personally? I don't even know who the [censored] she is and from the sounds of things I'm better off for it.

Jesus Christ, this is some cold crap. Addiction is addiction no matter how many people like your music. Yes, hundreds of drug abusers die unknown every month, but does that mean we are supposed to withold compassion from the ones we do hear about? As for being a role model; people do not cease to be human just because they are considered "famous" by the masses. Their problems do not simply disappear. God, this post just reeks of condescension. Have some [censored] heart.

I feel particularly sorry for her family. They must have lived their lives seeing this trainwreck on the horizon for years.

Over 100,000 people die every day... many of whom are probably much better people than Amy Winehouse.
