More reliably BBC and Sky news are also reporting it. I guess it's not much of a surprise though. I hope it doesn't distract too much from the tragedies in Norway.

I really enjoyed her last album, but is anyone really surprised by this? Every time I see something in the news about her addictions I keep wondering how long it would take before she's found dead. People have been worried about her ever since the irony of "Rehab".

Its kind of sad, but pales in comparison with whats happened in Norway.

She was only 27? Wow... I thought she was in her late 30s, at least.

So sad, but unfortunately not very surprising. :(

wasted talent. I'm gonna be really cynical here, but you would have thought someone who could have made a lot of money off her would have helped her out a bit more.

Definitely not surprising, but I am genuinely saddened by it. I thought she was brilliant and I really wanted her to sort her life out and get back to doing what she did best. I wonder if her people will release whatever she had managed to record for her new album?
Also read that her Dad might not know she's dead yet, as he's travelling somewhere for a gig. :(

Most people in that position don't care as long as the money rolls in.

Club 27 lets another one in.

Sad, but not surprising. What a waste of talent! I had hoped she would pull herself together.

Oh dear. I really did enjoy her music. Its a shame that she wasn't able to get the help she needed. :(

Like others said, it's unfortunate but not surprising.

She suffered from the musicians curse.

Jim Morrison - 27
Kurt Cobain - 27
Jimi Hendrix - 27

And now Amy, passes away at the age of 27.

:cold:

Edit: By Musicians curse, I mean the world of hard drugs. It's unforgiving.

This. I could honestly care less, nor am I surprised by her death. Is it unfortunate? Sure.

I enjoy her music, but I can't say I am to upset about her death. She wasn't exactly a contributing member of society....though loss of human life is never a good thing.

Also, she happened to die on my mother's birthday :bonk:

And Harvey, Kurt did not die of drug abuse.....he was murdered! :flame: MURRRDERRREEEDDD!!!!! :flame:

Although it's unsurprising in some ways, the news still came as a shock. How terribly sad. :(

I think it'd be best not to bring up a discussion of Kobain's death...

Is it wrong for me to be angry this wench OD'd on my B-Day? Sounds like she was pretty trashy and didn't stand a chance.

...Her music? Which could be why people are mourning this rather than any other drug addict.
