Any katanas that aren't Bolar's Oathblade, the Ebony Blade o

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:59 pm

I like 1H and I don't want to progress in the main quest because random dragons are the flattest, most pace-breaking encounters in the game, so the locations of any katanas that aren't those mentioned in the title would be appreciated. Unenchanted is preferable but anything is good.

Cheers.

The Ebony Swords/Greatswords are katana-like, but other than Dragonbane I've not seen any true katanas.

I'll have to go check it out. Can we take it or is it considered "Stealing"?

You can just take anything in the room, including Delphine's Dragon grave sites map.

I don't understand peoples fasanation with katana's or ninjato. There are plenty of much better swords with more uses throughout the ages. Katana's are only good at slashing while many Europeon swords can stab, slash, and much better at blocking

Seems to be a fad where teens (more American, really) are obsessed with 'Japanese culture' through watching a few animes/mangas, even though it's nothing at all like their culture.

Edit: as a safeguard, no, my username isn't from Naruto. At least not intentionally.

Of course.

I blame Highlander and all the publicity about how strong the steel is (the million foldings to increase the density). Plus, the YouTube video of a katana blade slicing a fired .50 BMG bullet doesn't help.

In games like Fable II wherein the various swords have differing damage to speed ratios I get it, but usu I suspect it's the look and the exotic nature of them.

That fad has been around since at least the 50's.

I've been to Japan a few times, it really is an amazing place.

Nothing like it is now, I assure you. Particulary through media advances.

I'm sure it is, I'd like to go myself.

Japan was fairly racist/suspicious when I was there in the late 1980s/early 1990s. This may have changed, but I doubt they have the same twisted "customer service" mentality we have here.

I found a blade katana on a random guy after a fight in a tarvern. I don't remember which one though, I think it was up north.

I spent three years on Okinawa and went to the mainland several times, definately a different view point on many different things. Funny to see a advertisemant for a briast pump that left nothing to the imagination next to coupons for vegatables in the local paper.
Actual conversation between the local national I was dating and myself:
"Why is your cousin laying naked in my bed?"-Me
"Oh she likes you, you should go with her."-Girl
"Well she is 14..."-Me
"That is old enough and she wants to."-Girl
"Umm...lets go get Curry"-Me

I just find the katana-style swords SO much more graceful than the common Western variety. Not to mention that I do tend to channel Tarma shena Tale'sedrin on my girls....

Katana (Japan), Geom (Korea), & Doa (China) rocks. Nothing ever comes close to it's craftsmanship.

ya- no.

European swords are much better. katana are only good for slashing an usually only agaisnt un-armored people/peasants or wooden armor etc. Where is European swords were made for stabbing, slashing etc and were made to fight things like mail etc.

They didn't have those when I was there - they came later. :P I'm not sure I'd admit to it if I had. Which means I could have since I'm denying it now. :o I'm gonna' shut-up now.
