I felt that earthquake in the Pittsburgh area. Thought it was a wreck from one of those big ass Marcellus Shale trucks hauling drilling equipment. Or a coal truck. They don't give a ****. No wonder everyone was freaking out. Hope everyones alright.

Expect more to come~ the Earth is in for a rough ride im afraid :cryvaultboy:

I'm in FL about to get hit by a Hurricane here. Telling you all right now the earth is PISSED at us and is issuing warnings to us. If we don't stop our crap the earth itself will turn on us and then we will be totally screwed.

Speaking seriously i'm glad no one was really hurt by this. It could have been A LOT worse however it sounds like this was just a mild tremor that shook everyone up. I've actually been in 1 of the few rare earthquakes in FL where a tremor happened out in the Gulf Of Mexico and it really shook up a few people. Many of us were worried it was going to be some kind of tsunami.

Starting to get sick of this now. The news is STILL (STILL!!!) going on about it constantly and my mother called and has been raving at her fear for her life for the last half hour. Ugh!

We're supposed to get the effects of the hurricane this weekend. The Earth is indeed pissed.

I was in class when it happened. No one knew what was going on.

After our teacher found out what happened he said, "I guess we should have left the building." :P

It seems we have angered the Old Gods.

I will be off tonight performing several rituals. I suggest others do the same. Perhaps we can calm them before they unleash their full wrath.

I live outside of Baltimore and I felt it. It was very noticeable, but we had no damage or anything, other than a few small things falling over. Kind of freaked a lot of people out momentarily though.

I'm in Turnersville and we definitely noticed it. Glasses on shelves shaking, bunch of neighbors outside wondering what was going on.

Yep, here in Maryland. It was my first encounter with an earthquake, was scary but exciting at the same time.

Wuss. Your first car accident going 60 MPH (~100K/h), now THAT'S something to quake in your boots about!

Is it true that you guys get enough quakes to make the whole state into one big massage chair?

And if you shop in a Safeway right outside of Baltimore we may have met :D

But yeah, could feel it at work. I stood there (at a safe distance) and watched the shelves (the 7 foot tall ones) lining the aisles sway back and forth while listening to glass and other items hit the floor. Luckily no one was hurt. The only thing that had me a bit worried was that the roof had just been repaired after our last snow storm, so I was just hoping they did a good job.

Sometimes. It's random. Sometimes we don't even get one for a year. But when it shakes, it's fun :P. There's no worries about falling buildings because of the building codes to survive a magnitude 8.0. Those are the most fun :P. Trying to stand back up and all that.

Hey you! Glad to hear there wasn't any damage to those neat brick rowhouses in Baltimore. I like that funky old town. Did Scout come through it with minimal stress? ;) Last time we had a quake and a cat in the house she just sort of rolled over and kept sleeping.

My mother claims to have felt it, I however felt nothing... Apparently an hour after the quake happened my school evacuated and did a stability check. (I leave school early, so I didn't participate)

I'm willing to take that challenge; I live in Ohio and frequently find myself in Coal Country (essentially the southern half of Ohio, West Virginia, etc.) and there is a TON of old mining equipment at all the spent strip-mines; my grandpa even has a drag-line just sitting around rusting. We got it running in the winter so we didn't have to walk back up the hill after riding the sled down (I'm lazy and mechanically apt; breeds innovation). I always assumed that riding that old drag-line would be a lot like an earthquake on the San Andres fault.
