Archery post 1.5

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:13 am

I know, now I regret getting that perk  well I guess I gotta make a new archer now.

just remember, ALL perks like paralyze and the shield bash perksetc. that delay enemy death, are much less effective than just performing another basic 1-h attack or arrow. it's more for diversity of combat and, not, true power increase.

Under Targetted Commands, see: removeperk, addperk

Get rid of the offending perk, and add that point onto one you still need/want

So far I've only experienced one kill-cam with the bow, and I think it was normal (I've only just become an archer lol). I have noticed missing the target a lot more (even when the crosshair is directly on the target's head, and we're both stationary), so I'm having to run and hide which is annoying. The flame enhancement is still working on my bow though, but I haven't tried a paralysing one yet.

I've seen a finishing move when the target survived a couple of times, but that's it.

That's terrible.

Instead of fixing bugs they had to spend all their time on bugging kill cams and making new underwater graphics even though most people spend less then 0.00005% of their playing time underwater. *slow clap"

I have the perk in the archery tree that has a chance to paralyze your target, the thing is that they become paralyzed long before my arrow leaves my bow, not that big of a deal but I'm pretty anol about my shoots and would like to land that first shoot is all.

I'm glad to see more people bringing this up. Yes Aphaea, I'm having the same bugs. I brought this up a while ago when 1.5 beta first came out and everyone tried to tell me it was mods/my imagination. It isn't. Kill cams trigger even when there are multiple enemies around even though everyone says they can't. Kill cams trigger and yet the arrow misses. I thought something wacky was going on with enchantments but I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I see it, though.

Gstaff rather coldly told us there would be no killcam toggle. He may have to revise that statement.

nice to know its not just me.

are you freakin serious?

Entirely. They just carried on fighting. Not seen a kill-cam for a miss though.

I've gotten an archery kill cam that didn't kill the enemy. And another one where it wasn't an "archery kill cam", but more like "architecture admiration cam" :lmao:

I always thougth this game didn't have enough bugs ^_^

I was walking around between Windhelm and Winterhold when a wolf appeared on a hill above me, I fired an arrow and the killcam showed it getting hit right in the face. It was epic. I like the new archery killcams, I haven't seen the magic ones yet.

Ha ha In three playthroughs with high level characters, all near or over level 50, I've never once been killed in the water. You said that like it's a major issue so I just had to comment on it.

Is anyone else having issues with archery after 1.5?

- Finishing shots seem to trigger randomly, not only when the enemy dies, but also more often than not when you have missed the target, meaning you end up with a slo-mo of the enemy (still alive) charging you, and you are unable to retaliate until the cut-scene finishes.

- Any enchantments on the bow seem to randomly trigger when the arrow looses, rather than when it hits the target, meaning that as soon as you fire, your target is paralised (for instance) even though the arrow misses them, since they immediately fell to the ground.

-Aiming seems to be skewed, in that after 1.5, the target doesnt seem to represent the sweet aiming spot like it used to - i seem to miss one in two shots now, where i never did before, especially when aiming at a moving target.

Man, I hope its not just me!

Every slo-mo cam I get while using archery is a kill-shot, never had one when I miss the target. But come to think of it, I only use my bow while undetected, so my shots are always kill-shots or close to it.

no, i said it because of how ridiculous it was for beth to eliminate underwater combat, in general, and, yet, still have creatures that can kill you.

it's needless and, imo, ridiculous. all it does is subtract from the game. instead, of adding underwater battles and a whole slew of creatures, underwater combat got axed.

that's why.

On my Dunmer archer I also noticed that the cut scene would trigger even when I missed sometimes and it really is a problem. Bethesda plz fix this.

Simple Solution: Be more accurate.

Nah, I'm just joking. But I think Bethesda should include a Frequency Cam Option. In Assassin's Creed, you can change how much the cinematic camera appears or something... Bethesda should consider that.

I'd prefer it if I could have more kill-cams.

It's ironic. I started a brand new archery character specifically to see the arrow kill cam shots...and I haven't seen one yet despite using my bow as my primary weapon! :( Of course I haven't played this new character for any extensive period, but I would've thought I could have seen at least one in the short time I had been playing.

Cute. Except these would have been hits without the killcam interfering. Thanks for contributing, though..

The only thing I'll say about the archery kill cams is when they happen I'm never prepared for it, so it takes me by surprise because I'm usually loading another arrow to shoot and then the kill cam happens. It's a bit disjointing to the flow of me notching another arrow, but I like it so far.

I just recently started playing the game without a HUD, and have goten quite good at cross-hairless archery. If they changed the sweet spot/messed up aiming, thats guna [censored] me over prety bad, as its hard enough without a cross hair.

As for the paralysis perk/enchantment, I have every perk/rank in the archery tree except for the lvl 100 perk.I guess I want take it now since it apparently doesnt work any more.

I am an archer in this game. That is realy all I do. Granted,I havnt played since the new patch came out,and havnt seen these problems personaly, but if they are true and wide spread, then that svcks.Archery was just fine how it was IMO, and If I have to start planing my perks/hopeing I get good shots or no bad kill cam, then thats going to spoil things for me.

Hehe, yeah. If someone ever actually got killed by the slaughterfish, they need to yank their gamer badge off and be drummed out of the fort like Chuck Connors.
