Are You Going to be a Medic?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:49 am

I don't like the idea that teammates decide when they get revived. It can encourage selfishness. Rambo Medics are necessary to keep the fight going, even with the whole "don't revive me, bro" thing.

It's the opoosite here; you can decide when you revivie & if you want to.

why does many of you think that you only can play 1 class? since you got 10 character slots. and a comand post. i believe people will play each of every different class, everyone will play as a soldier, medic, engineer and operative from time to time.

Well, actually since I'm playing with 2 friends, we'll probably all play 1 class to make ourselves pro at being that class, and the last class that goes unchosen an A.I. will pick up and we will keep him alive to perform the necessary objective.

I love medic classes.

I love them so much I sleep with them.

I literally plug every hole in the medic class.

But really, I'm DEAD set on being a light medic & supporting the team..... I just feel like an asshat if I don't. Supporting the team is in all honesty the most satisfying & rewarding experience in a multiplayer game... it just makes me feel fuzzy on the inside :D I truly mean it when I say throwing yourself into the fire to help a team mate is far more rewarding then a kill.

So! Any fellow "Me's" out there?

I will still use a medic, but not as much. There seems to be an abundance of them that I won't have to worry about it. Might swing to the least talked about class of "Soldiers" as a second character.

Of course. There are plenty of Engineers to do the objectives and harass people with turrets.

*Brandishes Syringes*
"Are you ready to use these, my brothers?"
"I AM READY!"
*Spits, uncaps syringe*
"Then Let's do this!"

yay for unoriginal references

I'll probably play medic for a good bit of time.

i am up w/ u OP! i do love being the healer!
in MMOs i am the healer and in shooters i'm the HEALER!
it's a ROLE that just like you... makes me feel FUZZY :)
i also believe it's more rewarding, takes more skill than just shooting, and puts you in more danger!
in my current favorite shooter Bad Company 2 i always play the medic, which is so much more tactical than any other class! i have to be defensive and offensive. the other classes only really have OFFENSE. :S

That would be ME, my friend.

I love any Medic class in general, but I do quite enjoy running in like a maniac and fragging as many people as humanly possible. Whilst still simultaneously tossing revive syringes.

To any people worried about the 'Don't revive me bro' thing, you choose to revive yourself, and if you don't want to revive, the Medic still gets XP for tossing you that syringe.

Every Combat Medic worth his salt always has a good Engie handing him weapon buffs and giving him covering fire.

I am - I loved being a medic in, Monday night Combat, but the Medic in that was combined with an engineer so you could drop turrets and heal people - but it was always nice to be supporting the team to victory.

As mentioned on other posts, A good team consists of people willing to do the job that is necessary. If you have a team where everybody has their own role, and they know that, and they are GOOD at it, then there would be no need to switch class during a match. But if you get a team full of people who are not going to take one for the team and only choose the class they want to be, then that is when you have to sacrifice playing as your preferred class and instead of playing as the ______ class, (because there is another 4 guys playing it) then you play as the _______ class (because its the job no one else was willing to do)

My father was a Medic in Battlefield 2. My uncle is a paramedic. I am a Medic in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I am a Medic in Team Fortress 2, playing in the European Team Fortress 2 League amongst others. I will be a Medic in Brink. I am a medical student in real life.

Y'all ain't got nothin' on this.
^_^

However, I feel forced to confess that I am perpetually, nigglingly tempted towards Soldier. I played it for my team throughout one ETF2L season, and we lost not one game. Damn my talent. It will be my backup class in Brink, to say the least.

Last but not least, I never got a [censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored][censored] TURTLE.

I'm impressed by your Medic-ness. Seems like for you it's less of a class and more of a way of life.

I'll be a Medic too. Probably quite often. It just won't be my main class.

Playing a rogue for six years on WoW (don't burn me) has cause me to be obligated to be a light operative. Now if the situation were with a priest (or any other healing class) instead of a rogue, I'd agree with the medic thing here. But fate has made me a true assassin...an assassin with bacon.

you still play?

and yeah I'm also going to be light operative playing rogue since wow release :P ofc I've played other characters but now I just play my rogue.

I've played the medic and enjoy doing so, but this feels a bit like "medic light" and since it seems so tempting to so many I'm going to try something a little different.

I have decided I am going to attempt a "medic" class character that does not fill the role of a medic.

:gun: I usually play a medic or any kind of stealth character. I think I'm going to be either a Medic or an Operative.
