An Argonian eh? We'll make sure your remains are sent back t

My character was born in High rock but thanks for the assumption [censored]. My point behind is topic is that bethesda should allow us to choose where we were born, it doesn't have to be locked race to locked province, or it could be "Unknown" for anyone who was RP'ing the "I lost my memory" route. Anybody else support this idea?

If that was an insult a guard made to your Argonian then knowing where you came from wouldn`t make any difference because he wouldn`t know and he wouldn`t care. When someone is being insulting of a particular people due to their skin or look or creed, they don`t care if you`re born in their country or not. They just want to upset you.

Such is the way of some peoples.

Just because he assumes that you were born in black march dosent mean that you are. He had no way of knowing, and made a logical guess.

It's natural that people judge each other by the appearance, personally I think it's accpectable as long as they are not being mean by it and should respect the truth when they know differently.

I am a British Chinese, do you know how many people presume I am from China? And how people make Kung Fu sound when they see me? You can't blame them cos they probably brought up from places where they could only see Chinese people from books.

They could make a dialogue that allowing you to answer, however the role of this relationship is quite small in the story, I can understand they just make a statement instead of a conversation.

If you are offended by this, there are a lot more things you could be upset about from the rest of the game.

Same here, I'm Norwegian-Sami and people use to ask me if I ride on raindeer and can joik and such.
True, it is harder to recognise Sami by appearence, but we mostly kept to ourself so we usually have some distinct features.
We were originally an Asian tribe that wandered westwards, and some stuff like eyes and cheekbones are different from most Norwegians at least.

OT: He saw you as an Argonian and assumed you were from Argonia. Big deal.
Most of you were called back and tranced by the Hist anyway during the Oblivion Crisis.

If the Argonian, a lesser of Man and far lesser of Khajiit, is offended by his homeland, perhaps Argonian should hide his face and swim away in his own tears. J'rahzir would have thought the man quite considerate as this Khajiit would have fed the Argonian's remains to small Nord children.

Remember your own place, Cat. Argonians are (or were) formidable slaves and had a lesser tendency to turn to Skooma and Moon Sugar.

This Khajiit can not help if Sugar is so sweet and Skooma chills and warms and shocks the bones and minds. Khajiit knows his kind were enslaved by the side of Argonians, yet the creatures know not the pleasures of being Khajiit. Though, Khajiit envies their scales, for when fur is wet, it freezes to the hide...

Black marsh is home of the Argonians, right? So its a safe assumption to make that the vast majority of Argonians in Skyrim came from there once upon a time.

Does this mean that if I decide my character is a transixual, and find a note with teach 'her' a lesson, I have a right to get all offended?

Yeah, gall. Hadvar should totally be psychic. That'd be more palatable.

Fine if he`s not being racist then he`s just making an assumption of all creatures of your kind.

It`s no big deal, is it?

Oh no, he said a country that's different to the one I'm imagining in my head! Time to sell Skyrim and boycott the Elder Scrolls series!

But seriously, it doesn't really matter. I guess he's making an assumption? Considering he doesn't have your name on the list, I doubt he knows which province you were born in. Even Hadvar isn't that smart!

This. I thought he was trying to make some kind of serious point, but he`s whining about something that can`t possibly happen anyway.

Seeing as Argonia is your characters peoples ancestral home and Hadvar doesn't know you personally I say it is an honest mistake made from trying to be respectful.

For immersion purposes, my Bosmer was born in Black Marsh under the sign of the Shadow.

And thus raised a Shadowscale with the culture of the Tree-Sap People. I've enjoyed combining two cultures for one character.

I've also done all the research lorewise to make it seem legit.

I'm actually going to be original and agree with you, these games are becoming less and less of a sandbox with each release.
