First point - OK, I see. I'm surprised that people do use their real name.

Second point - it SHOULD affect their standing within the community! But since the first point stops it, it's all academic

Point 1- Most people do use afake names, there is a small minority that may use their real names however.

Point 2- I agree, but that could be unfair. You may have no idea as to what that member is usually like especially if you are new to the forum. You would then be swayed into making a decision about that person based on their warning meter with no clues/details as to why it is even at it's current rating.

Edit: plus what Hungry Donner has added on the previous page

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck beavers?

Also, would you rather be eaten by lions or ants?

If you could only ever listen to one band again who would it be?

If you could only ever play one game again what would it be?

If you could only eat one meal ever again what would it be?

You guys seem to participate in active discussions a lot less than regular members. I know partially this because you're doing your job but is there any other reason?

to Hungry Donner (btw, that's a pretty sick nickname, even if 75% of people don't get it!)

I still think that the mods need to have an organized channel for feedback: are they locking too fast, too arbitrary, do they have an axe to grind, etc - actually, the sys admins NEED to have this to determine if any of the mods are a problem or if their policies are too rigid

re public discourse and debate : that is GOOD! it's called freedom of speech and the public's right to know. If you lock some thread or ban someone, and state your reasons in a post, and many users post to disagree with you - can you accept that maybe you made a mistake?

Are all the mods perfect? Somehow I don't think so. But right now, there is no correction mechanism at all.
