Yep, just multiplayer deathmatch. Don't be discouraged if you don't get in a game for over 5 minutes, they take awhile.

On the main page, it say that there is a scheduled maintenance going on right now from 6-9pm. That might affect my instillation, I suppose, since it starts at 0% and then fails.

I thought it was mediocre. But like some of you say, that's probably because it was deathmatch only.

I tried restarting steam, tried reinstalling the DirectX update, tried reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ update (both the DirectX and the Visual C++ updates are in the game files), tried restarting...

None worked. Ugh.

Demo?! =O I think I might download it this weekend. But downloading demos has never worked for me, so I might just wait until my birthday. Add me, PSN = DrFailgood.

Looks like I'm going to have to re-download the entire demo. [censored] fantastic.

Edit: AND the Steam store won't open. Anyone else having this problem? Sometimes, I really [censored] hate Steam's guts.

Edit numero dos: You know what? Screw all this noise, I'm just downloading it for the 360. At least then its pretty much guaranteed to work.

Edit 3: Just [censored] great. My Gold went out, and even though I tried to use a Gold trial card (that I have millions of), it won't let me download it unless I AM a gold member.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

So I played as a Marine almost exclusively tonight to see if my Marine problems were just me, and I think it was mostly my poor Mariney skills. Though I still think it svcks that any attack stuns a Marine, but I think meleeing an Alien/Predator stuns them. I've had a hard time testing it out since most of them just want to rip my face off. My only other problem with the Marine is how useless the shotgun and flamethrow are. I unloaded a whole clip from the shotgun into an Alien that was about 5/6m away (based on what the motion detector says) and it still managed to live. I'm almost positive I hit it every time because of it's screams/blood splatter (though it is possible that another Marine was shooting it at the same time and that I was missing horribly ). The flamethrower on the other hand is just freaking useless, I stood right behind an Alien as it instakilled a Predator and held down M1 the entire time, then chased it with it for a couple feet. Not only did it survive, but it didn't catch on fire or anything! I can deal with the not-catching-on-fire part, but surviving that? C'mon now! The pulse rifle, smart gun, and single-shot rifle are all pretty slick though.

After my Marine runs, I decided to switch to Predator. Playing as a Predator is a lot easier in this game than the previous for me, and I think it's because the wristblades are so powerful now. I don't even need to find the plasma caster or the smartdisc, I can just run around slicin' and dicin'. I'm not gonna lie though, I feel pretty sweet running around constantly switching vision mode and hearing the "swoosh, swoosh" sound. :hehe:

Honestly what's the point of cloaking in multiplayer? the aliens see a red figure around you and the marines almost instantly spot you somehow..

Anyone know if there will be splitscreen support in the final game?

If I'm anywhere that isn't a corridor i usually don't get spotted by marines but i swear... Everytime i am in a corridor, even when i'm at the opposite end to it than the marine they spot me instantly.

Is the predators sprint fast enough to outrun the motion tracker before it detects them?

I just realized... I probably get spotted in corridors instantly because of the motion tracker since there will only be one direction i could come from i guess they just randomly fire.

Has anybody figured out what the two doodads at either end of the level are supposed to do? There's one by the smartgun and another at the opposite end of the level in the room with the large ramp. From what I can tell only the Predator can hack them, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
