Now they don't mean as much... :(

This new forum is actually making me feel dizzy and slightly nauseous. I have not seen such a bad design since the wizards fiasco a few months ago on their forum. I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever been made sick from the design of something. It's just how the lack of colours contrasts. You have this bright silver gray, compared to the pure black. Then add in gradients and you get some horror, but more importantly the contrast is too strong on my eyes and it is making me sick. Congratulations whoever did the design. You have succeeded in making someone sick. Wear the title proudly.

I don't think it is that bad. It does leap the forums into the new decade.

What's the point of stars if everyone has one :/

I don't. :D

Perhaps some members will stop posting just for post count now that the star system has changed, plus I seem to remember that not too long ago there was a discussion on not having a rank/post count at all - there were quite a few (in this thread) in favour. Seems things have changed now. ;)

Likes:
Some new features (like spoiler system etc..)
In theory it seems like it would be easier to get to the game you want.
Flashy
Black theme

Dislikes:
Only using 1/3 of my browser window is kind of irritating, I'd rather have more forums less gray
Flashy (Yes it can be both)
It takes more clicks to get to where you want, and that means more pages loading, if you could 'expand' the categories so it was in a way like the old forums that would be much better.
Stars (I'll elaborate below, because I feel like it)
Toolbar at the top, I never have liked toolbars that follow me on webpages, no matter where they are. I'll eventually get used to it I guess.

I don't like the new star system one bit, it seems like they're just trying to encourage people by giving more stars for small goals that don't matter in any way shape or form to begin with, and by doing that they decreased how much functionality the stars provide. I can no longer visually look to see what rank someone is, unless I want to count the stars. 5 medium size stars are much easier to see than 10 medium size stars, when the runner up rank is 9 or 4.

finally, the proper spoiler system

Aye, I need bright themes for that reason. preferrably something with light blues, greens, and maybe even some orange (lots of white too)

I like the new spoiler system, but this is still a good forum, the Lionhead forums used to be terrible, they changed it since but a few years ago when they changed a month after I joined it was to bright, the white forums buned my eyes along with many others.
Also your colour scheme reminds me of mirrors edge.

Yiasemi is going to be heartbroken that she can't use the puke-green layout that only she used. :spotted owl:

This has to be a joke, there's no alternate forum schemes? I literally feel sick in the stomach right now. Then as soon as I take the page away I start to feel better. Please tell me you intend to get at least one alternate colour scheme later down the line? If not I may have to leave. Good as this community is being sick in the stomach and getting a headache from eye strain is not for me.

Edit
I used the green one. Reminded me of the old forums. At least it didn't strain my eyes like this one.

Eh, it's difficult to see spoiler tags.

I agree with Gamgee, my eyes hurt.

 <- wait, that's not right!

*sobs*

Bring the old format back! This one is so much more distracting with the topic bars' background being a gradient. And the code for many of the emoticons is wrong, and it takes forever to load them all.

The organizational scheme is better on the main page, but I do not like the visual/theme changes at all.

This new forum is actually making me feel dizzy and slightly nauseous.

My guess is, they'll implement various skins later on. Babysteps and so forth, they gotta see what works and what doesn't first. I sure hope that won't take long, because I wasn't too kidding about the ocular thingy either - contrasts aren't very easy on the ole eyeball.

Also, fullscreen doesn't keep the search bar in its place for me, it keeps moving.

Good for the spoiler thingy - those huge walls of black bars were annoying. Much simpler.

I miss the green layout. I've used it since I first registered, back when Oblivion came out, ish.

I am lagging. On a forum. That is not how it is meant to be.

I shed tears.

Oh, BTW, what did you guys do while the forums were down?

I descended into madness, razed a town in Massachussets to the ground (without fire, somehow), and apparently had a strange discussion about high altitude baking (with cows) in low orbit. But mostly talked about high altitude baking.

dark screens with white text give me headaches. I am tempted to download Opera at work just so I can use high-contrast mode to get rid of this evil black background

I know what you mean like, before you could look at your y stars and be proud that you've made x posts. It was like an accomplishment.

If it has it's own unique javascript for that function, I am totally blocking it from loading

Good luck logging in or changing any settings if you do that :P

I mean, could we not have just had an extra log in button somewhere? anywhere would be nice.

Woah, what happens when something important actually changes in your life?

It's pretty poor, but it's not that poor. In fact, it's a pretty amazing designer that makes people physically ill from their work, kudos to you my friend!

I just went over to TWC (Total War Center) and argued politics and history with a bunch of crazies. Kinda fun, actually. :P

I went to university and did work :aaah:

I also think I kept checking back about 50 times a day to see if my beloved forums were back :(

This layout svcks. The new forum is slower and doesn't look as good. I hate it.

It's change, but I'll get used to it.

The mass number of stars seems a bit pointless to me though. I also dislike how it's not widescreen.
