It's maximized. The box and control bar are floating at the top of the screen no matter what I do, maximized, resized, F11'd.

Being in a Netbook with about 6" of screenspace, it's pretty glaring.

If the bar at the top is fixed ( how it goes off to the right but not the left ) and its more widescreen i think it would be better.

OK, now I've found a problem. It seems that the TES concept art avatars are no longer available. Was it a mistake or was it intentional? Because I liked the Daedric armor one.

This new forum is actually making me feel dizzy and slightly nauseous. I have not seen such a bad design since the wizards fiasco a few months ago on their forum. I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever been made sick from the design of something. It's just how the lack of colours contrasts. You have this bright silver gray, compared to the pure black. Then add in gradients and you get some horror, but more importantly the contrast is too strong on my eyes and it is making me sick. Congratulations whoever did the design. You have succeeded in making someone sick. Wear the title proudly.

Honestly, I'm not a fan.

The old layout was clean, organized and easy on the eyes. I'm not sure how to word this, but the new design has to much going on. The facebook tie-ins are completely unnecessary, I use Facebook, but I can't see any reason why I would need it tied in with this forum, none at all.

The navigation is more confusing, the previous system was perfect, you had all the different sections on one page, it was easy to scroll down to the one I wanted and enter it, all that's been accomplished now is adding more loading times before you can get where you want.

I honestly don't see what the point of the new design was, that's really the only complaint I have. I'm sure they've done more than just change the looks of the forum, and I'm sure some of those changes are for the better, but the new design just isn't working.

To put it shortly, if I could have the previous version back, I'd take it. It worked, and if it's not broke then don't try to fix it.

Because these are the forums of a commercial games company. It, y'know, makes sense for the games to take the main stage.

Hmm, looks like we can check who views our profile now (there's a latest visitors tab on the left side when you go to your profile). Could we do that before?

And we can set a status for ourselves.

- Cool head's on the game sub-forums

Cons:
- Slow currently
- Search bar
- Not widescreen
- Ugly blank profile pic if pic isn't added

Yeah, caught that. Still, though, it makes no sense to have to navigate two links to end up in the same are, as opposed to the one link if there were a CD link on the main page.

But every other complaint IMO is pretty tertiary when compared to the limitations of display width. Uh..I dunno is Gamgee was kidding or not, but I'm also feeling a bit off looking at the new format, seems to be straining my eyes a lot more than the old one :shrug:

I agree, it looks worse than the old one. But let's at least use it for a week or so. I don't think everyone will be happy, but about half of you who complains will probably get used to it.

The Facebook stuff is mainly for registering users. New members can now use Facebook Connect to quickly set up a forum account. It will fill in some basic information and give you an avatar based on your Facebook profile image, if you want it to.
