Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Discussion

This is weird. On the 360, I can't seem to find any games with more than 3-4 people in them. Did the servers go down earlier or something? I can get into the games just fine, there's just few to no players. It's a little late at night, but you'd think there'd still be people playing a new game like this. It worked just fine yesterday at this time.

Also, the Battlefield website appears to be down, so I'm guessing that's related.

Their servers upped and died from the mass influx of people. I am on the PC and I haven't managed to get into a game since launch day.

Seems like no-scoping is too easy in this game at close range with the higher powered snipers..

If you point in your targets general direction you can usually kill them(at close range ofc),I think there's some kinda aim assist..kind of fun killing Engineers and Assault's at close range, but it's really too easy..totally imbalanced things like this are why they had a beta..you'd think it would be fixed. :c

I dont think its too easy i just think in CoD its too hard! :P

I pretty much only use the engineer class. I already have my AKS_74 and am about to get my AT4 :)

A lot of people in this game are lousy though. Medics that wont heal you when you are standing right in front of them, assaults that wont give you ammo, engineers that wont repair, when someone gets a vehicle they dont wait for anyone else to get in they just take off. :stare: good game though, just annoying players.

I don't know if the same thing will happen with BC2, but the community in BF2 multiplayer now is awesome. While I'm waiting to get BC2 I've been playing BF2 and there is a lot of teamwork going on (even in the packed servers). I was being showered with ammo/med kits and there is always someone stopping to give you a ride.

You know, it's funny, I'm really interested in playing this game but I never got an invite to the PC beta. That would have sealed the deal for me of whether or not I enjoy it, but I guess not. Is there a PC demo availble at all?

I'm glad my brother had bought Battlefield Vietnam a long time ago. After trying to get the code to work after clicking the accept button hundreds of times, it finally took and now I can own people with the M1 Garand in multiplayer. I've only played 1 match, I want to beat the campaign before I really get into the MP, but it seemed worse than the beta. >.>

No, but you could have just went to one of the many websites that were throwing out beta codes for free and nabbed one.

Well just got through another 7 hour play session with my co-worker. Nothing like getting 4 hours of sleep so we can blast some people. I jumped up to r9 from r5, popped my K/D ratio to 1.08, set a new record of 22 pins in one match, had a number of 35+ kill matches. We dominated a few of the matches too, I placed first 2 times and first on our team about 6 times. It was fun, but I'm pooped now..I think I advanced around 400 kills today.. (same amount of deaths' too!)

Just played the full game for the first time, and it is the best [censored] game I have ever played. I got a little over 6500 points in the two matches I played as a sniper.

I preordered the game from gamestop, and there was a deal to get the ak74u. How do you get this? I enters the VIP code with the game, and got teem death Match and everything. I just don't know how to do it.

This is happening with me too. I've seen other people in-game with it.

There should be a code on your receipt, enter it where you entered the VIP code and it unlocks the AKS-74U.

Hope that helps.

Yep. While in the store, there should be an option to enter a code. Just go there and enter what's on your receipt.

Thanks a bunch.
EDIT: Looking at the receipt right now, can't find the code. It says I've pre ordered it, where would it be?
Edit2: Did some googling and found out that I'm basically [censored]. Thanks again, GameStop, first on Borderlands and now BC2.

I loved the demo... But...

I'm totally not digging the full game. At all.

It feels like they completely rebalanced the game from the beta... Which was a horrible move since it was fine IN the beta. Ugh.

Not to mention that you can get killed AROUND a corner. Wanted much? Because apparently the bullets either curve or track you.

The game needs a patch badly.

I'd also like to point out in my somewhat short campaign experience that the feel of Bad Company, which is why I loved the first, was mostly gone. Replaced with a much, much more serious approach. Not to mention the overly abundant language and seriousness just like EVERY OTHER WAR GAME. Bad company was meant to be silly from the start. This doesn't just go away from it, it misses the mark completely.

To sum it up, I'm really not impressed with Bad Company 2 so far.

You mean they didn't print the code? I know when I picked mine up, the guy circled it and told me what to do. Is there no way to go back to the store and show them the receipt and maybe get a code? If not, that's really lame. And wrong.

I think that was just for the beta/demo..not for the full game.

I just unlocked the Revolver,so disappointing..the fire rate is too slow to kill anyone. :(

I'm also really close to unlocking the UMP..looking forward to that,I love the gun in MW2 and I hope it's similar in this game. :D

If you can't figure it out,it only takes an hour or two of playing to unlock..so don't worry.

The last weapon for each of the classes are really disappointing..

UMP=bad version of the AK74,a little less kick in trade for a much lower fire rate and smaller clip..no thanks.

M16=2-3 bursts to kill, totally not worth it when compared to others.

M95=pretty much the same as the M24/GOL,just less accurate and slower bolt,it's better at taking down UAV's/choppers then the other 2 bolt actions, but really I don't find it worth it..I can't find a good reason to choose it over the GOL..because I can still shoot a UAV with my sniper then pull out my pistol and spray at it to take it down. :/

Weren't you supposed to be able to import your shiznit from the demo into the game? If you can, it's too late anyways, I've already unlocked it.

You can't. Apparently they don't want people to have an "unfair advantage" which is admitting that higher level gear is better than lower level gear. So if you start playing the MP later then you'll be screwed, having to go up against people of higher ranks, with better weapons and more experience.

That's why I hate unlock systems.

That happened to me with the first BC. I think i was rank 17 before BC2 came out, and I'm pretty sure I have more hours logged on that than MW2.
Seriously, how the hell are people rank 25+ now?
Also, I think the easiest way to spot a person with "m4d ub3r 1337 sk1llz" from MW2 is to look for someone running around in a ghillie suit with a shotgun.

Actually,this game is very fair.

Some of the best Assault Rifles are unlocked early(the last 2 are just bad..)

The AK74 is unlocked very soon after you start the Engineer, and from my experience it's by far the best of the weapons for that class.

The M95 is the worst high-powered sniper(imo),it has very slow bolting and has no advantage over the other snipers..sure it does more damage, but that just makes it a 1 shot kill from a little farther away, you don't kill people from close range enough with a sniper for that to even matter.

I have no idea about the LMG's,only time I touch the Medic kit is when I pick it up to revive team mates after a fire fight at a flag/bomb site.

Really, most of the later weapons for each class are more novelty then anything..there are some fun/interesting guns later on in the kits, but none of them are much better then the first gun you get.

The perks on the other hand are a bit unfair, you have to put ~20 hours into the game before you even get a variety to pick from, but it's not a big deal..most of them aren't too game changing any ways.

Speaking of "novelty" weapons, the VSS is so fun..it's like the UMP 45 and M21 EBR from MW2 had epic spraysniper babies. :D

Im glad i rented this game and not bought it, this is a huge disappointment. My friends said it is more realistic than COD and with better tactical (and teamwork) gameplay than operation flashpoint. Instead im greeted with graphics that look dull and boxy, i have not encountered one example of team work apart from the rest of my squad being snipers up in the hills. The levels seem empty, and i rarely see all the players.

The first sniper is weak, it would be more effective if threw paperclips at them. And there is the fact that you can;t go prone, which is must for every sniper/camper. The campaign is boring with a dull storyline.

The only bit i like is the destruction mechanics, which is fun, but annoying when playing rush, where they are able to fire a few shots at the MCOM and it crumbles.

And why did they put WW2 guns in it, if i wanted to play WW2 i would play BF 1943 (a far better game).
