Being the Dragonborn and throne

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 5:36 am

wrong dragon blood. th emporer's "dragon blood" was nothing special, it jus means that akatosh deems them worthy of the throne, no special blood or immortal soul or really nytign seperating them from another perosn other than birth right
lol @ Wrong dragon blood. The entire purpose of the dragon blood of the Septim blood line is the fact that they are the only people who even posses the capability to light the eternal dragon fire. And considering Dovahkiin can light the dragon fire with the power of his thu'um, I'd say that uniquely qualifies him for the game of thrones. The only reason Martin and Uriel Septim could not "shout" is because dragons were extinct so there was no souls for them to absorb knowledge from.

they were suposedly the only people who could wear the amulet of kings, that was propaganda (the big bad in oblivion wore it), the entire "Dragon blood" of the septims was propaganda and anyone with the right to the throne was said to have dragon blood (which is impossible if you mean dovakiin, it is not heridtary). a normal torch probably could light the dragon fires, how much was just the septims making themselves look good? people outside the septim line has lit the dragon fires before, people outside the septim line has wre the amulet of kings. lastly, anyone in TES an shout, they just have to train the ability

You're Dragonborn and you needed two things to learn to shout:

First to learn a word
Second a dragon's soul.

Martin ran into neither, smart ass.

they were suposedly the only people who could wear the amulet of kings, that was propaganda (the big bad in oblivion wore it), the entire "Dragon blood" of the septims was propaganda and anyone with the right to the throne was said to have dragon blood (which is impossible if you mean dovakiin, it is not heridtary). a normal torch probably could light the dragon fires, how much was just the septims making themselves look good? people outside the septim line has lit the dragon fires before, people outside the septim line has wre the amulet of kings. lastly, anyone in TES an shout, they just have to train the ability

It wasn't propaganda. Camoron was a demi god in his plane, a plane where he set the rules. Did you ever try putting on the Amulet of Kings? I did. And it always slipped off.

well you got to consider the "bad guy" from oblivion was working with Dagon so who knows what they did to the Amulet of Kings while they had it. Also maybe mankar camoran also had septim blood in him, we dont know who slept with who, even Martin was a bastard. And your character in Oblivion wasnt able to wear it, it just slip right off, no propaganda there just facts.

Yeah that is my expectation as well. I think it will be in or at the end of Dawnguard that we get that revelation since the moot is rumored to occur during Dawnguard.

Would anyone be rather offended if the moot didn't declair them High King. The people of Skyrim don't even pay lip service to the fact you defeated Alduin or how influential you are.

Resume
Dragonborn
Slayed Alduin, you know the world eater. Owe and I did it in Sovrenguard.
Head of the Dark Brotherhood
Arch Mage
Thieves Guild Master
Head of the Companions
Can Summon a Dragon!!!
Slayer of... well I stopped counting after 1000 bandits.
The Champion of every Daedric Prince cept the one of Order!
Ever last one of the Jarl's Thane!

I'm sure every player could add to that list as well and yet in game you don't really get the respect afforded to such accomplishments but I hope that changes with the Moot.

Seriously if we get to do all this and accomplish so much in the game you slay alduin and it's not even acknowledged afterwards or if so just barely. This should definitely haPpen or you get a large say in what's happens. It should be a game changing dlc down the road

The Gray Beards, Dragurs and Ulfric learned shout(s) without absorbing dragon souls, cause they cant they are not Dragon Born. it just takes many years to learn a simple shout while for you (dovahkiin) its seconds cause you have the soul and blood of a dragon. its second nature lol.

iirc an empress of the late second era (i think, its been awile since iv read about the humans liberation) with no relation to the septims wore the amulet. it is propaganda. p.s. uriel gave matrin away on purpose, he knew soethingbad would happen and he needed to keep an heir safe.

It would be awesome if we could get a hold at the end of the civil war quest line. Maybe we could become the replacing Jarl for Solitude/Windhelm (depending on which side you chose), or maybe you could conquer Solstheim and declare it as a hold of Skyrim?

I stand corrected good sir. But why did it slip of the neck of your character than? and why was it so important to retrieve it from Mankar?

Your own post betrays you. If anyone could wear the amulet and light the dragonfires, why would he need to keep Martin safe?

Your theory has so many plotholes.

I like that a lot better than 'the script only affects the player, and it's a quest item, but the devs forgot it gets added to someone else's inventory'

The ability to wear the Amulet basically means your bid for emperor is endorsed by Akatosh, and he has blessed you with dragon blood. He can give that gift to whoever and whichever bloodline he deems fit (why he let Pelagius become emperor is beyond me, he probably knew he'd have some important successors)

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Septim_Dynasty

The septim dynasty refers to the bloodline of Emporers and Empresses beginning with http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Tiber_Septim. Also known as the "Third Empire", this empire spanned the entire http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Third_Era. The majority of these rulers are considered to be Imperials, unless otherwise stated.

Nothing mentions a Dunmer empress.

Now I remember. You're that new dragonborn, hero of the world, listener of the dark brotherhood, arch mage, guildmaster of the thieves guild, harbinger of the companions, champion of each daedric prince, thane, and everyone else's thane. So you what? Fetch the mead?

probably becaue it was enchanted, only whatever the corination is allows whever to wear it, probably.

because he wants his line on the throne? that part would be rather obvious

you still do not have the right to the throne, even if im wrong. the septim empire is long dead, even if we had the rights to the throne (which dovakiin does not) we could not

What everyone needs to remember is that there are two types of Dragonborn. There is the true Dragonborn, one who has the soul of a dragon. This would be people like Reman Cyrodiil, Tiber Septim, and the player character of Skyrim. Also might include St. Alessia, Uriel VII, and Martin. They can absorb dragon souls and learn shouts easily. The other type is dragonborn by blood, aka one who has the blood of the dragons. This is more figurative. It is a mark of legitimate authority and a sign of Akatosh's favor to rule. They do not, however, have the soul of a dragon. None of this seems to be passed by blood otherwise none of the Septim emperors after Pelagius I would have had the dragonblood and been able to light the Dragonfires.

The Amulet of Kings and the Dragonfires only needed someone of dragonblood, aka endorsed by the Divines. All true Emperors are of the dragonblood but very few are actually Dragonborn and all Dragonborn are of the dragonblood.

Mankar could have been either of the two.

The only thing I agree with you about is that being Dragonborn doesn't outright guarantee you the Emperor's crown - but I'd say that it probably lends you a considerable weight.

The player Dragonborn is both. Paarthurnax comments on your dragon blood when you first meet him.

every bodys argument here is based off of the idea that only the septims were deemed worthy of ruling. akatosh is a god who knows how many people were able to wear the amulet of kings and had been deemed worthy by akatosh. so if its akatosh who choses who is worthy it could be lore friendly enough for their to be DLC in which you speak to akatosh and he gives you an amulet of kings and deems you worthy to rule.

wait, how would we talk to akatosh and why would he deem us worthy of ruling an emprie that has already fallen and been replaced? people who want to rule need to realise there is no way we can. the empire they want to rule is long gone (your about 200 years too late to lay claim to it) and the only way our dovakiin can rule is by invading the current mede empire (even with a friendly dragon here and there on his/her side, there is no way s/he can invade an entire empire alone)

ok then maybe during the MOOT you can beome the ruler of skyrim. and to be honest with the track record the dovahkin has it dosent sound to hard tu use the army of skyrim to take out the aldmiri dominion wait a bit then attack the empire to claim yourself as the emperor.

it is propaganda, the empire tries to pass off the amulet as something only the septims can wear, that is a blatent lie. empress alessia was the first leader of the empire and it was from her soul the amulet of kings was made, her son, belharza, was the second ruler of the empire and, one can assume, the first the wear the amulet of kings. now tiber is a gneral under cuhlecain, when cuhlecain was assasinated tiber went on to become emperor of the third empire. it was not untill now that the septims have worn the amulet. it took some searching to find his name but belharza is my proof that the septims are not the only ones to wear the amulet

it s a blatent lie and imperial propagada that only the septims could wear the amuelt.

No one's been talking about a Septim-only amulet. We've been talking about a Dragonborn-only amulet.

The fact is that the only one in the game who can wear it besides Martin is Camoron and that's only after he goes to a realm that is deigned "the seat of his power." Even then, it's an acknowledged bug that he has it equipped at all. If you were right the main character could've worn the amulet of kings and lit the dragonfires himself. He couldn't. So you're wrong.
