Being the Dragonborn and throne

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:42 am

So I read that book "The Book of the Dragonborn" in Skyrim and I found something pretty interesting. Since you're the dragonborn and you have the dragon blood, you pretty much have the legitimate claim to the throne. So the summary is that Akatosh blessed St. Alessia and all her heirs to be blessed with the blood of the dragons. The dragonborn is the only one who can wear the amulet of kings and light the Dragonfires, The legitimate rulers of the empire have all had the dragon blood: The rulers of the first empire founded by St. Alessia, Reman Cyrodiil and his heirs, and the Septim line of emperors.
I mean being the dragonborn does mean you are the ultimate dragon slayer, but it also means you are blessed by Akatosh. That means you and all your heirs can wear the amulet of kings and light the dragonfires, which means you have the legitimate claim to the throne of the empire.

But your character could make a 2nd covenant with Akatosh and get a second version of the Amulet of Kings

More likely you could summon Odahving as proof of your dragonblood.

As much as I would love for my character to become Emperor I doubt Bethesda will let us do that. It would cause too many problems down the road.

I fully expect the Dragonborn to become High King of Skyrim.

Yeah that is my expectation as well. I think it will be in or at the end of Dawnguard that we get that revelation since the moot is rumored to occur during Dawnguard.

Would anyone be rather offended if the moot didn't declair them High King. The people of Skyrim don't even pay lip service to the fact you defeated Alduin or how influential you are.

Resume
Dragonborn
Slayed Alduin, you know the world eater. Owe and I did it in Sovrenguard.
Head of the Dark Brotherhood
Arch Mage
Thieves Guild Master
Head of the Companions
Can Summon a Dragon!!!
Slayer of... well I stopped counting after 1000 bandits.
The Champion of every Daedric Prince cept the one of Order!
Ever last one of the Jarl's Thane!

I'm sure every player could add to that list as well and yet in game you don't really get the respect afforded to such accomplishments but I hope that changes with the Moot.

Actually the dovakin does have dragonblood. Remember when Parrthuax said that dragons have the urge to dominate and asked us if you feel it in your blood, he basically applying that we do have a dragon blood within our veins.

To touch on this subject a little, I do think this was meant to be a major shakeup of the Imperial government. Possibly as a precursor to a new dynasty or the renewed Great War.

wrong dragon blood. th emporer's "dragon blood" was nothing special, it jus means that akatosh deems them worthy of the throne, no special blood or immortal soul or really nytign seperating them from another perosn other than birth right

Yes you do.
Yes they were.
That's contestable because it's been 200 years since the Emperors were dragonborn.

Ulfric already did that in Skyrim, and as for the Emproer...well...play the DB questline.

You literaly are part Dragon actualy. And, you have no more claim then the Mede pretenders. Or Ulfric. The Septims are gone.

Anyways, epic chant time:

Dovahjun, Dovahjun
Faal du'ulaan jun do Keizaal
Rok los mul, Rok los kril
Ahrk ok Thu'um rok fent Su'um
Fah fin brom fent alok

Not bad for on the spot Draconic Haiku.

Reminds me of the fan-fiction where my Dragonborn barges into the Moot and declares himself Emperor of Cyrodiil. He then demands the loyalty of the Jarls, restores Talos warship, and sparks of the Second Great War when he responds to Elenwen's objection by using the fire breath shout on her. Tis a very fun time in my head lol.

Or you know, visit his shrine and watch it cure diseases, not like that doesn't scream Jesus of Tamriel.
