Bethesda how can you make a better TES product. This is the

As the topic describes, let us as the TES community give suggestions and ideas to make the TES series even better. Post your idea's and suggestions and dont forget the small details!

I'll start it off with my first personal input.

1) More NPC's and 'life' in general. TES game's are empty in general. Add more people/wildlife etc. into the world to make it more 'lifelike'. Think of trade caravans, adventures, travelers etc. These dont have to be quest people. Also more different voice acting, or as with morrowind text dialoque. All this will add significly to the immersion of the world
2) More wildlife. I am missing wildlife. You see the occasional wolf, rabbit and deer but this is hardly enough, offcourse this is balancing finding the correct balance can add to the immersion.
3) A better dynamic world. The world should react to what happens in the world, espec the dialoque and AI in TES lacks this feature. This will have a HUGE impact on the immersion, feel and overall 'do what you want' feature of the world.

Please people refrain from any flaming or trolling in this post, let this be a long list that hopefully bethesda will have a look at.

5) Mage need some love, i suggest staff can act as amplifier of magic effect (e.g. increase damage). So give us a reason to hold a staff (no, i don't want free shooting spell from staff that doesn't level my ability)
6) Get rid of leveled item, it have been complained a lot since Oblivion

6) Remove Level scaling from unique items. Just pick a version and make it static.

Oh sh!t they still scale unique weapons to the level you are when you receive them? I totally forgot about that from Oblivion. Ugh, now I'll have to use console commands or something to get the strongest versions of Chillrend and my Nightingale armor. How obnoxious.

At least make the equip improve in power as we level up, Bethesda! Don't make them stay as weak as they are when we get them at low levels! That just makes all the unique items totally useless by the time we get to level 50!!

Make the world more alive, and be able to manipulate objects like you could in Oblivion. In this one, only objects you can pick up are manipulated. That's such a set back, because I hate going into my home and not being able to move some preset objects. Not to mention the gravity/reset problem that puts everything back on the floor sometimes.

Give us more animations like the NPCs? I'd like to hold a mug in my hand instead of being a lifeless doll, lol.

Physics, especially for cloth and hair. Why make items and clothing for the player, if it's just going to clip through their legs, etc anyway?

Agreed. Also this may tie in with #4 but RACE DIALOGUE. Need more!

Giving NPCs "dramatic kills" cause attacks which are otherwise survivable to become instant and immediate kills, far sooner than the attack would normally be able to hit. The worst part is that in order to avoid the instant 'unfair' death, you must level or gear yourself to the point that the fight becomes trivial. How on earth did this get past testing?

This is just one illustration of poor design, along with a rollercoaster of level scaling creating pushover bosses and random mobs that kill you in one hit, crafting progressions that make you 10x as strong as you need to be, abilities like sneak which suddenly spike to godlike effectiveness at high levels, spells which literally do nothing except: fear, "sleep," zap, summon helper, or mimic other, better game mechanics.

The improvement in quality from Oblivion to Fallout 3 was breathtaking, so why did Skyrim recreate almost all the problems that made Oblivion bad? There is absolutely nothing to this game beyond the presentation of the world. It is 100% style and 0% substance. Where is your creativity? I freely admit that I spent a few days on it, because I enjoyed the appearance of the world, but at the end I can only think, another wasted opportunity. I won't touch it again until another year or so, when mods have made it playable.

oh yea, i hate the instant kill animation from NPC. like i was holding charge on paralyze and when i was about to shoot it out. they put on instant kill animation to kill me. i was like wtf, i swear i could have get him paralyze way earlier than his hit land on me, but no they have to lock me out on all actions which is stupid and [censored]

Release the Construction Kit earlier so your players won't have the time to think of complaints and just make mods to add a better experience to Skyrim. Morrowind's Construction Kit was with my game CD when I bought it. Why can't Skyrim do that?

- More travel options (ships, teleportation)
- Combat and interaction on horseback, better horse management
- Deeper companion personality
- Brawls you can actually lose without standing still
- Quests and more content for non-combat oriented players (instrument playing, art, decoration, more involved speechcraft, ...)
- Bring back attributes, spellmaking,
- Meaningful choices in quests,
- More elaborate journal entries, directions from NPCs
- Not all of NPCs dialogue has to be voice acted, text would be just fine
- Less dungeons, and make them nonlinear

I've had the same follower for more than 50 hours of the game, I'd like them to acknowledge the massive adventures we've been on and maybe even start to like me more.

Thanks, I realize I'm promoting this thread a little bit much but I didn't really know just how much a difference there was between Oblivion and Skyrim spells until I made this thread and I'd like it to go around enough for everyone to at least get one glance at it.

I'd like to point out that this is not representative of the Skyrim community.

Skyrim sold 3.5 million units in it's first 2 days alone. This forum represents a very small proportion of players. I wouldn't even imagine 1%?

How many people here honestly think they're going to make a difference in the next game? Bethesda have done a fantastic job at creating a vanilla game. They've created an even better foundation for the modders to take over and appease all the different stances on the game. I would imagine that from a business perspective they've secured themselves at least another 3 sequels and increased their fan database.

Things won't change for the minority.

Longer guild questlines with better stories. and repeatable quests don't count.
