they spent million of dollars creating this game, i can't believe they didn't maked an animation for soul absortion it's just unbelievable.
(same with water textures really - thanks God the modder community is great)
They did, but they didnt use it. I would personally be very annoyed if my character stopped to do some silly animation as he absorbed a soul. And I think that was Bethesda's thinking as well.
DX11 false advertising, 4 cores false advertising, high resolutions on pc false advertising, greatly improved animations false advertising... but you know what pisses me off more than all those things i mentioned? Fus Ro Da! i want Fus Ro Da from the damn TRAILER not the puny actual version!
They said DX11 was just for some minor oprimization features, nothing more. No fancy DX11 effects at all.
PC version is able to use the full texture resolutions. Consoles have them cut down for performance.
The animations are 100x better then before. They may not be the best, but they are way better. And for that I am perfectly happy.
What are you talking about with Fus Ro
Dah? The only difference you could make out in the trailer from normal gameplay is there is a pause between Fus and Ro. But me thinks this was done so you could shout just the first word if you didnt want the full shout. Just tap the button or key and it would do the first word.
and yes i play on PC and fortunatly the modder community is much more skilled than beth texture department. (http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=711 just an example)
Ignorance...
Bethesda artists can do much better quality, but they have to scale things back for performance reasons. Consoles only have 512MB of memory, so they need to balance the game's model quality and texture quality with the engine resources so they can have as smooth gameplay as possible. Though they failed this on PS3.
If bethesda wanted to make the most graphically amazing game in the world, without worrying about any form of restrictions, then they could. Any game developer could. This is why Crysis 1 was never on consoles. It was made to be graphically amazing for its time because it was an engine demo. Enter Crysis 2 and notice it is no longer as graphically amazing as its older brother, because they had to tone things way back for consoles. The reasons why no MMO has crysis quality graphics dispide 99% of them being on PC is because they have to tone back the graphics for older computers.
My point is simply that consoles are indeed holding back the graphical advancement of modern games.
