Bethesda profit on skyrim? : Othor Games

What do you think these profits will mean. will they do more profits than expected? less?

will this affect the development of fallout 4? will they have a bigger team? will they rearange the lead team aka firing todd howard and getting someone they judge better? what do you skyrim will change for the company?

Skyrim will be their most popular game to date, therefore generating lots of profit to make more awesome games in the future, predictions of how much will probably be around equal to what everyone expects.

There is no indication at all that Todd Howard will be fired from Bethesda Softworks.

There is no current information regarding another Fallout game.

More profits usually results in a bigger team/more people involved in a project.

There is no current information regarding another Fallout game.

I dont need informations to say that there will be one. its reasoning.

@NPCSherlock no. hes the biggest personality on the team therefore i use him as an example for what a change in the lead of the game would mean. and its not oppinions. morrowind is better.

but oblivion sold better so in that sense Oblivion was a better game

If their history is anything to go by, Skyrim will perform better then Bethesda expected in profits, win GOTY, and they will hire a larger team for their next game. This has been the result of their last 3 or so titles. (That they actually developed themselves.)

Funny, as all the polls (outside of something like G4 or IGN) I've ever seen always have Morrowind come out on top.

Hahaha, wut? That counts as my official wtf of the day. It's a lot harder to find a poll where the results suggest that Oblivion is better than it is to find one that suggests Morrowind is better. The popular consensus has always been that Morrowind is the better game.

You're wrong. He was the project lead of your beloved Morrowind (and Tribunal). He became executive producer starting with Bloodmoon, and has been that for every major project ever since. Also, if you're hoping for him to get fired, keep dreaming. As much as you dislike him, every game he's "led" has been successful critically and commercially. Unless Skyrim turns out to be a huge bomb and an embarrassment to Bethesda and Zenimax (which we both know is not very likely), he's not losing his job anytime soon.

that if you exclude people that understand that oblivion is the fourth instalement of a series.

@Xetirox he was project lead because he is a producer and was designer also. the lead designer was ken rolston. and like i said i used his name because hes the biggest personality in the studio but you cant read a whole thread before raging and having to reply.

no it really doesnt on these forums you have a really biased answers, because they are the more or less hard core elderscrolls fans, Oblivion did sell better (last time I checked it has been a while) though so people did like it more than morrowind

Oh, my bad. For some reason I thought he was one of the original creators of the ES series. He joined Beth the same year Arena was released.

oh it sold more so its better because you know... black ops sold more than modern warfare 2 wich sold more than modern warfare wich sold more than cod 3 wich sold more than cod 2 wich sold more than cod 1.

the reason morrowind didnt sell that much is because back then the PS2 was the leading console but oblivion was the first real AAA title on the first HD console.

Biggest personality? Sorry, you were already stated that because he wasn't the lead director for morrowind, it made oblivion a bad game.

He was project lead for morrowind. Plus all the other games he has done have been great successes with multiple goty awards
