"The Witcher 2, I didn't think it looked that nice."

"I also, for the second time, never said that The Witcher's graphics weren't that nice."

The art style of the game. In the same sentence I said the visuals were good.

Looking nice is not the same as having good graphics.

I haven't contradicted myself at all. Look at my posts.

It's clear that no amount of reasoning is going to get past this hatred of Skyrim/consoles you have.

Hatred of Skyrim, yeah, I've over a 100 hours of Skyrim hatred.

I resent my PC being an Xbox emulator yes and it's not fair that Bethesda and such other companies release their game in such a crappy state for the PC.

How is the PC, crappy? Little more detail......

My PC runs like a champ. Have had one single CTD since release.

Why didn't you say that in the first place then? You like the art style, better, you like the scenic views better in Skyrim rather than something doesn't look that nice. generalising is confusing and that's what you did.

Without tweak or mods and on release, Skyrim was awful on the PC, some people still say it is and it's all thanks to the modders making the game playable for a lot of people. Skyrim runs fine for me as well, shame it doesn't on my mates GTX570.

Xbox emulator? Your PC is a piece of hardware. My PC is a piece of hardware. An Xbox is a piece of hardware.

Not to turn this into a console war but consoles are what have made the series popular and a success. I'm not doubting you have many hours in the game, just every post is how the game doesn't do this, or how it's a console port, or how it's dumbed down or whatever. Kind of gets old after a while.

I took it for granted people saw looks and graphics as different things. I find the art style, the scenic views, the vistas, the mountains, the landscapes and the cities much more visually appealing than I did in the Witcher. The Witcher is still a pretty game, of course, and is more technically advanced, but that doesn't make it more beautiful IMO.

People are going to have problems on the PC. Bethesda games have always been more CPU intensive than GPU intensive anyway.

Skyrim just isn't optimised for the PC and games shouldn't be CPU intensive now days because they shift it to the GPU. The XBox has a good CPU so they shift a lot of the work to it in their engine and why it's pretty piss poor on modern PC's because no proper threading or GPU usage gets done where it matters.

If it's true that the shadows are done on the CPU then there is only one reason for that and that's because they offloaded it onto the XBox360 CPU. 13fps on a Quad-core 3.2Ghz and a GTX 460 at 1920x1080 doesn't mean the game is intensive, it means Skyrim is porrly optimised for PC hardware. it's just facts, no console hating.

Send Bethesda a cheque for what you paid for the game then, I'm sure they will spend it well......

Also, no game it worth £60 but I'm glad if it was I wouldn't pay it.

Morrowind was also CPU dependant and was horribly optimised, PCs of the day struggled with it, yet it was developed only for the PC. That's just the nature of Bethesda's games. You can't shift NPCs, schedules, AI and scripting to the GPU.

And it's been proven shadows aren't rendered by the CPU.
