Bethesda....What Happened Since Fallout 3?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:50 am

That is what YOU want, A lot of the posters on this forum do not want the new, they want the old, they want no voice acting, dumbed down graphics for more choices, and are willing to sacrifice a lot of the new stuff for terrible game mechanics, what YOU want is understandable, but what a lot of people that WORSHIP morrowind want, is unreasonable, and never going to happen.
Actually, most do. Read next time. People like old and new. We want more, which is old AND new. Ask any of the major critics that come to these forums. Hell, most are in the other thread as we speak. Go ask them, or hell, I will.

I have found that i love half of Skyrim. The half where i just wander around aimlessly at lower-mid levels and explore and loot and kill or run away from things is amazing. However, when i get to high levels and the exploring becomes pointless because i can kill everything and i already have the best gear and tons of money, or I start interacting with npcs or start doing quests at any level, that's when I ask myself "What has happened to them?"
people on the forum were complaingin about how the game doesnt become easier as you level

How does gaming on a pc make me self righteous?
Saying its our fault for getting the console version is being a self righteous pc user. Implying that we deserve these issues if we use consoles. We enjoy consoles, you enjoy pc, but you need to understand, that PC gamers make up a MUCH smaller amount of the fanbase than console users, and if the console versions of the game are bugged to high heaven, it is considered a disaster.

What's with the console vs PC debate?

That's simply a choice between game stability vs modability (or repairability)...unless it happens to be Skyrim and you are on PS3, then you lucked out on both counts initially.

where that endless supply of 200 year old food came from was anyone's guess.
Are you hungry for some 200 year old Salisbury steak? Or are you hungry for some news?

The only thing that really bugged me in FO3 was that I shot about 2000 guys in the head with 10mm ammo and I had to watch about 2000 decapitation animations... which never happened with a 10mm round ever in the history of the world.

Whereas I will never forget the fear of Marcus levelling a minigun and hoping none of my guys were in the way of it...

I wanted FO3 to be a game in the genre of Full Spectrum Warrior, I'm not gonna lie.

Well, it is your fault isn't it? You're the one buying them, knowing full well that the PC is superior.
I don't see how the size of the fanbase matters in this discussion? People will always buy what everyone else is buying, no matter if it's bad compared to the alternative.

I hate it when people say its our fault for playing console, and implying we deserve the issues that arise from us not being able to mod. Thats all. Its choice, and people should be able to play which ever version they want without worrying about massive corruptions.

Go, ask the major critics, newb. They are right in the other thread, all the major ones anyway. They'll tell you and confound your fallacious statement, your afraid of that though and have no argument now, lol at newbs.

Point is people shouldnt have to rely on mods to fix the game. And as for the fanbase, more are one the consoles, so the massive glitches in NV made that game a candidate for a disaster. Im done discussing this with you.

Exactly, which is why having a PC is better in case something gets bugged to all hell, but this is off-topic, so ok.

Or preferably play the game for ten hours a day, post here for ten hours a day, and sleep the other four...

I wish. Unfortunelately I'm already bored out of my mind with Skyrim and already went back to NV.
But hey, that gives me more time to spend some quality time on this forum!

Some people take this crap way too seriously. Often leads to fallacious comments like this one.

So... anyone see that BCS Championship game? Bama really nailed LSU didn't they?

Wait, oh! ontopic...

Can't wait until that next console generation finally comes out so that designing games for it, wont mean titles are X years behind the current PC tech.

Until then, lets hope the growing minority effects some sort of change in the next Beth title whatever it may end up being.

In a nutshell, Todd happened. See my sig, it extends to the Fallout series as well. Don't get me wrong, I love Skyrim as a game, but as TES and an actual RPG? It leaves a bit to be desired.

EDIT: Grammer.

^ What he said. As far as i can see Todd Howard is single-handedly beginning to ruin the series.

That's stange, the memo must not have been sent.

The election was close, but Erandur did win the position of speaker. Merari is the treasurer, MK-{OmegaX} is the chairman of the old guard, roosterdad is secretary of snark, and I was appointed secretary of snappy avatars and vaultboy smilies. :vaultboy:

I don't see how a game is great with no Level scaling. It either becomes a snooze fest at high levels or a pain at low levels because the game doesn't allow you to explore which is the number 1 thing your suppose to do in an Open World game.

Then why not just leave out all enemies and drop the leveling system completely? Exploring may be a big thing in Open World games, but if it wasn't for the challenges to overcome (killing enemies fx) then what's the fun in it? And btw you could kill Casadores at level three in nv if you were really devoted.

When comparing Skyrim to Fo3 I'm mostly dissapointed with the perks in Skyrim. FO3 (and nv) offered way more options to create unconventional character types, like a flamethrowing cannibal-tank, a silvermouthed sniper assassin, a fistfighting drunkard, an explosive computer nerd... you could combine the perks in so many ways and come up with some pretty creative types, and it was fun, unlike Skyrim.

Wasn't he project Leader and designer for the Bible of games Morrowind? We all know a fiery afterlife awaits those who dare critic the Bible.

*Confused* You didn't win the position for Keeper of Starwars References?

I came second place. :cryvaultboy:

Fellow user "GeorgeLucasFail" won that honor... Luckily the primaries are just around the corner, and my campaign manager tells me that I've secured the latino Daggerfall elitist vote.

To be honest I've been nothing but surprised at how much Elder Scrollsness™ they managed to pack into Skyrim, Morrowind is still my favourite TES game but I totally appreciate that Bethesda couldn't get away with it again...really, go watch a few lets-play videos and tell me how some of these morons would handle the somewhat needless complexity of a classic RPG.

Its critique not critic. A critic is one who critiques. Incidentally, Morrowind was the last game a certain developed was on. Forget his make...but he was the basis on which Soccious Erganna was made.
