Bethesda, you might want to tone down the violence in the killing animations...

To Original poster:

If you don't like violence in your games, perhaps you should have payed closer attention to the games Mature rating, and not bought it in the first place. It's fairly asinine to purchase Mature rating game, and then ask the designers to tone down the violence. PEBKAC

I see what you did thar

While it does appear in the video there is a sword being driven through that poor lady's poop chute, it obviously was not designed to be depicted in that way.

Humanity will always desire blood and gore for entertainment.

We need only look back to our ancestors: roman gladiatorial spectacles are a prime example. Back then we were primitive, so the blood and gore came from brutal deaths.

We're seeing the same gore (movies, video games, etc) except now no one actually dies.

The thing I hate about the slow motion kills is when you see one you immediately know there are no more enemies around. It kind of ruins the suspense gained by wondering if there is anyone else around.

Are you sure about that? I get the slo mo kills when I slit throats in the middle of combat using the Shadow Warrior perk. I also get hit (sometimes even killed) during the slo mo animations.

I guess no one played Warhammer 40K space marine? That game makes the "gore and blood" of Skyrim look like a joke.

God of war is 50 x 1000 more gory/violent than anything ever released by Bethesda!

However, just out of spite against this thread that I'm considering modding exploding corpses into the game!

Yeah, I hope they don't start gutting the violence from TES games (pun indended).

Seriously, though, I think it would be okay to have an option in the options menu for turning off the animations, but I hope they don't start watering the game down just to make it more kid friendly. TES games have always been designed for mature players and I hope they stay that way.

I want to be like Gregor Clegane. I want to cleave innocent women in half, their children too. Disembowel my enemies. Rip out throats in unarmed combat. Take the innocents from their homes cover them in pitch and light them on fire!

Too far, right? Just kidding.... Or am I? :)

You idiots will complain about anything.. clearly this is your first ES, look back at all the sixual content thats been removed.. now you want to remove the violence..yes, lets make a mature game safe for sheltered individuals like yourself. Oh! But why stop there?! Weapons are too scary and influential on youth, lets replace them with magic wands, and pixie sticks! And hey, those women are too atractive, lets cover them up more so!

I'm not saying you need six and violence to sell a game..but this is a game about war, If you want something less "graphic" why don't you play LBP, or FF.

Ahh, but I bet you there are even people like you complaining about games like "God of War"

Good times my friend, good times. I actually did that with a sling once. A puny little sling! I remember this, cause I took screenshots and posted it on the Interplay forums. I somehow did 24 damage with a sling. Doesn't even come close to the 62 damage my Monk pounded out.

Slings!!! I forgot about slings! Man I miss that game!!

But....But...That is what sells these days, blatant gore with no story or meaningful content. The kiddies are eating it up for $60 bucks a pop and BGS is laughing all the way to the bank and probably went to Aruba for Xmas....

On a side note, the "mature" content of this game (profanity included) doesn't even come close to saaay...Spartacus or Game of Thrones, and I belive both of these were shown on public TV (great shows though).

Dude it is so awesome and SUCH b.s that Spartacus died from cancer.

I think she watched about 10 minutes, then it just got weird and I was like...

"Grandma?"

"Yes?"

"I should probably go cook dinner, these six scenes are pretty awkward."

Then she made an inappropriate joke about jerked chicken.

I don't think there is enough alcohol in the world to drown that memory...
Eventually my friend... Eventually. Time is the healer of that wound.

My favourite scene in LOTR: FOTR is at the end when Aragorn ends the Orukhai (sp?) I saw it in twice in theatres and both times someone 'whooped' in the audience. Skyrim rewards you with when you outclass someone by having these animations. I hope the ck has the abililty to make your own animations.

You should see the blood and rolling heads from a nice decapitation from Wuuthrad and my Glass Greatsword. I just decapitated some poor guy in the Ratway, His head rolled away, but his hood was still attached to the body. That's precision is what that is!

I'd like to see a DLC similar to GRA in FONV devoted to new kill animations. I'm sorry but i like them.

But this is America! Don't you know, that we looove our violence! It's even okay for the kiddies, *but* GOD forbid, they ever see a woman's briast!

If it makes you feel better, I support BOTH beheadings and briast shots.

I am an enlightened, modern individual.

The gore fits perfectly with the Skyrim art design: A darker atmospheric design.
