Bethesda, you might want to tone down the violence in the ki

For me I'd prefer something more realistic. With better parental control's, turn it off if you don't like it.

like i dunoo...an age certificate?

Mmm. According to my copies of Skyrim, kids under 15 should not be playing this game. 15+ seems like the right rating to me.

Getting a sword up your butt and out your shoulder usually bleed you know. I'd say that there was little blood in that video for such a hit.
Note that Fallout 3 was just rediculous, getting a 10mm gunshot to your head or leg won't make it blow away or explode in a tsunami of blood.
That game was meant to have cartoony blood though.

But I'm sure a 20 pound warhammer to your skull will at least bash your skull in if not ripping it off with blood and brainz. (Not Fallout level)

if a kid under w/e age limit of any game plays and the parent is ''outraged'' then its there fault in the first place.

I didn't read every quote so this may have been mentioned. Is it possible to incorporate a gore level like a difficulty level. From none to ultra for example. Or is it logistically, from a develping stand point, unrealstic?

What amazes me is that, even if the game is for advlts, we have animations even for killing innocent people that is begging to not slay them, that try to escape, and are pretty detailed, decapitations included, but we can't get to see a couple of "TeeTees" or a bare bottom, because they are... ohh well, offensive. I'm not even talking about strong six scenes or animations.

I still don't understand, and I think I never will.

maybe bethesda decided to make underwear not removable for not having another useless item around (underwear), makes sense to me

The company is American, and face it. Nakedness would rile up half of the media over there, and for some reason nakedness is a bigger taboo than murder in games or movies  (ironically, America got the biggest porm industry).
Companies like CDProjektRED can do it, but they're Polish after all.

I really hope Bethesda is *just* getting started with the gore. Next elder scrolls I want face stabs, half head decaps, gut stabs with entrails falling out, leg removal and then they try to crawl away leaving a trail of blood and then you can pig stick them in the back to finish them off, and jobs as executioner

You forgot the part where you take the severed leg, beat his buddy to death with it, and take his goopy entrails to make an alchemy potion.

I agree though. Need more gore.

It's more fun forcing bandits to eat their own legs.

I second your second seconding.

Yes like in Fallout where it's possible to sever all limbs. The gore! The glorious gore! Also, more nudity. I may sound crass but I read books like American Gods and Game Of Thrones. So it'd be nice to get that level of violence and nudity in my video games too. The Bible has more gore and nudity than TES for crying out loud.

Wrhammers and battle axes and greatswords, if they are in a game nd there are executions, people should be able to get completely cut in half, and their heads crushed....enough of the ragdoll physics.

Yeah, agree on dismemberment. But they got to somehow chnage what can actually dismember. One 10mm round isn't ripping heads off.
Heavy gore only for greatweapons and spells.
A exploding fireball in your face will melt your face and would be like a firebomb.

I'm usually not the one to desire more gore and nudity, but I'd happily take more (where appropriate). As it is now, I think it's adequate. But I wouldn't mind more explicit "house of fun" places where things get more extreme. Look at the fantasy series "Game of Thrones" (best fantasy series ever imo) - plenty of nudity, but it's in the "right places" so you don't really notice it. Oh, and btw, when they're fully dressed, they are REALLY dressed - no skin exposed to the elements at all, huge capes over metal armor. I'd say that series gives a much more realistic approach to clothing and skin exposure.

Oh, and the familiarities to Skyrim borders the extreme

Companies like CDProjektRED can do it, but they're Polish after all.

To be fair, it's mostly because when entertainment (movies, TV shows, games) in America were introduced, they were "Fun for the entire family!". Unfortunately, this stigma has carried on -- pormography requires a legal age limit to purchase and is generally "taboo" here, especially among the older generation.

Violence, however, holds very little sway over dictating media because of the strong military sense in our country (i.e. civil, world wars, vietnam, etc.) that many of the people who actually come up with the rules were exposed to. I'd even go so far as to say that many Americans feel that it is "important to introduce the horrors and realism of war and violence to teach our children a strong moral lesson".

[censored] are just a distraction from the real "morality" America is attempting to portray on its youth. Killing babies = no, no. Violently disposing of someone who has wronged you? Well that's perfectly fine, if distributed through the proper medium.*

*It also has a lot to do with Anglo-Saxon religious beliefs, which held ideals that founded America.

(This is strictly my opinion, and I do not agree with it, just thought I'd give you guys some insight)

I don't know if I agree. I support violently disposing anyone who crosses the eagle. But I'm in the minority of that sort of mentality. That hasn't really been the status quo for a few decades. Then again, you live in the south so it may be different down there.

As it always does, the subject shifts to the subject of nudity and American culture. There should be an adage describing the phenomenon.

That aside, Skyrim is more violent that Oblivion, but not more gory. The corpses, while more diverse, were not as gruesome as the mutilated, half-decayed corpses (and zombies) we saw so much of in TES IV.
