Bethesda, you might want to tone down the violence in the ki

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 6:35 am

PLEASE!
Skyrim is childsplay compared to Fallout.
Head's separating from the body, and from themselves.
The ability to disconnect limbs is available before and after killing a NPC.
ALOT more blood.
As my parents used to say, two wrongs don't make a right.

This thread is some kind of fail.

The OP's post was meant as a joke! If you actually watched the video you will find that the woman got a sword straight up the ass, hence the SARCASTIC comment about toning down the violence...

And to think, not long ago there was a thread about "theres not enough blood in this game."

There isn't.

Well, they should have added the option to turn off the finishing animations. I like them but others find them too violent and others too boring.

Ahh, okay. Next time I see a white victim of violence I'll say "I hate violence against innocent white people" and hope nobody reads any racial overtones into it.
You're just trying to pick a fight, aren't you? Else stop nitpicking so much. Geez.

I really hope Bethesda is *just* getting started with the gore. Next elder scrolls I want face stabs, half head decaps, gut stabs with entrails falling out, leg removal and then they try to crawl away leaving a trail of blood and then you can pig stick them in the back to finish them off, and jobs as executioner :)

anyway, it's a rated M game, so no surprise there's violence included...that's why they invented the rating system -_-

But this is America! Don't you know, that we looove our violence! It's even okay for the kiddies, *but* GOD forbid, they ever see a woman's briast! (Most kids in the US are even deprived of their own mother's milk in favor of baby formula)

But yeah, these days violence in games is pretty common, and I mean, what do you expect will happen if you shove 2 feet of steel into someone? It is a Sword & Sorcery/Medieval Fantasy inspired game. It's not really for "kids", though I'm sure there are alot of kid playing it. The rating systems are broken b/c these days most parents don't care what their kids are playing as long as they aren't out on the streets smoking meth and giving bjs to strangers for drug money.

agree, in every corner of the world we see these kind of violence. human has an animal side, which has the urge to enjoy killing and bloodshed.
Is it really a matter that we just put this urge in a video game and not in streets?

Bethesda's offices are near DC, actually. So yeah, when I say "This is America", I mean, where the game is made. Sheesh. You overly Ameri-sensitive types, just waiting to pounce out of the woodwork at the first mention of the "A" word.

Yes, please tone down the killing animations. We wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about murder.

yeah, I want flowers to pour out of dead people, not blood.
oh, and a death kiss instead of beheading, no wait, no death, you just tell people "go away" and they leave the dungeon, speechcraft skill for the win!

Skyrim's fan base as well as the users on this forum are from all over. So when you say "This is America" on these forums... yeah you get the point.

It's a thematic decision. You are playing a game with a dark tone set in a brutal land, I imagine somewhat inspired by the works of Robert E. Howard. It is not Mario, and it is not Oblivion. I personally think the violence is well-done, although not overly fussed on third-person cam.

Complaining about the violence in Skyrim is a bit like complaining about the violence in Gladiator.

If you're a PC player, there is nothing stopping you from downloading a mod that disables finishing moves.

In Grim Fandango the guns sprouted flowers out of people. It was kindof creepy.
