This is NCR territory, so why woudn't they be everywhere? Also, why is that a bad thing? Make lots of cash/exp killing NCR.

Yeah, the game is non-linear, with free choice. Except it IS slightly linear, and almost everything depends on you helping out/siding with the NCR. Like

Spoiler

I found a sheriff for Primm, but the NCR wouldn't grant him a pardon. Then they took over and declared marshal law. If the game was free, I could have set him up as sheriff and then took on any NCR who disagreed.

I got him a pardon just fine.

it makes sense that the NCR would have more encampments. but i just wish CL would have more side quests.

I did an NCR play through the first time and was looking forward to a legion play through (it sounded more fun). but there is not alot to do on the side.

i also kinda wish there were at least a couple CL friendly companions

The game is set on the NCR side of the Colorado. Caesar's Legion controls everything west of Hoover Dam, but in gameplay terms, its only a tiny strip at the edge of the map.

Maybe that's what the DLC is, adding to the west side.

Better be an expansion rather than a 800MSP DLC. <_<

Politically correct/morally acceptable/realistic or not, I want all the factions to have equal roles and influence in the Mojave. To me, the NCR being so widespread and numerous and CL being so sparse is what's really unrealistic and odd. If the Legion is that small why does NCR need some wanderer to step in and finally get things moving? That's how I see it anyways. I'm only 20 hours in and haven't yet gotten near Vegas so I can't come to a real opinion, but so far the NCR is dominating the game.

NCR has a bigger presence in the area, simple as that. Legion is all in colorado and has some camps here and there in the mojave.

Wear NCR uniform = Profit. But yes i do wish they gave us more to do as CL. I hope Beth is taking notes and looks to add more CL content in DLC.

Thats the point though, the NCR are forcing themselves on the Region, and it's apparant they are putting themselves in to thin. Personally I feel Mr. House is more capable than anyone else.

Even if it's NCR's turf it feels like they lied to me.
"There are three major factions in the game".
Three major factions my ass, there's one, NCR.
Point isn't that I don't "see" more legion's in the map, but that they don't have enough quests.
I've currently done 2 quests, I'm working on a 3rd and 4th one.
But I've failed over 20 quests by killing NCR people.
It's hard as hell to come by Legion quests.
So I don't give a flying crap if it's NCR's turf, they said 3 major factions to help and what we got was one.
/opinion I guess.

I am currently on good terms with both even though I am on CL's side because I don't want to get killed so quickly. I prefer to sabotage them all, mwahahahahaha.

Yup. I like this. I hope I don't have to choose anyone in the end. I'd love to use a certain low orbiting weapon to nuke whoever wins the battle for the damn.

The NCR is just too damn stuffy.

They never said NCR wasn't the biggest one. Everyone knows they got the biggest population.

As I said, I don't care that much for how many camps they have but that they have a crapload more quests than CL.
Joining NCR must be really fun seeing as how one get's a lot of quests.
Joining CL on the other hand was frustrating and confusing.
Don't care that they only have like (from what I've seen) 4 camps while NCR has like two dozen.
I care that I never get any quests from them.

I dont think Bethesda or Obsidian meant to be "Bias". I think they were just being realistic. Obviously the NCR are the "home team". So they should be more dug in then CR. CR are the invaders so they are not going to have much territory.

Also, 99% of wastelanders would rather have the NCR rule them then the CR ruling. You can say both sides are morally gray, but when it comes down to it, CR is the more "Evil" side.

I'm trying to imagine a proper CL town. It would be like Spartacus with machine guns. I would like to see Super Mutant gladiators and robot legionaires...

From my limited exposure to both sides so far...

NCR fulfills the role of BoS in Fallout 3 - bringing order to the wasteland. Ultimately, they're after rule of law.

Legion - is more akin to allying yourself with the slavers of Paradise Falls. Or maybe the Enclave - or some strange mash-up of those two factions.

(I'm going to have a very hard time working for the Legion, unless I play an absolute psychopath with a broken moral compass. Seeing them the first time was a very big shock, especially as I explored and interacted with their survivors or what was left of the victims.)

In my first playthrough I attempted to find a Caesar's Legion camp. I went all over the place before I finally found one. I get there, and the guy gives me a quest to kill 10 NCR guys in a camp (not an easy quest for a newbie with limited gear). I became villified by the NCR. It was no big deal except that I couldn't fast travel anywhere without making sure I was in NCR armor because 3/4 the map is either run by, allied with, or patrolled by the NCR. I had Veronica as a companion too. She doesn't care about NCR reputation.

I started over with a new character. This time I just went with the flow. I've done more quests with less hassle. This is all because I'm essentially aligned with the NCR. In my next playthrough, I'll create a stealthy melee character and attempt to align with the Legion. I'll need the stealth to be able to dodge all the NCR troopers roaming the wastes.

The only reason I wanted to be aligned with the Legion was because I thought they would be a militaristic powerhouse, while the NCR would be a bureaucratic weakling. After some dialog with Caesar, I see that the NCR is more or less a military powerhouse that is not very democratic. They go in and take over a town, demanding taxes for protection. The Legion on the other hand just kills everyone. Has anyone seen them take slaves? What about uniting tribes (something Caesar was supposed to have done in the East)? I thought I was going to see shades of grey. The choices I see (excluding Mr. House and myself) are between a pushy military regime and a pushy military regime bent on eradicating everyone.

Arrghhh... CL route is impossible if you want to do a lot of questing in your playthrough, because they all either involve NCR characters or are set in NCR turf. Even the Strip is filled with New Vegas soldiers and Boone will have nothing to do with you...

Anyone notice how heavily bias the game is to joining the NCR? For a game with so many "choices" Im getting tired of NCR being shoved down my throat, the game just keeps pushing me into helping them. I cant walk two feet without bumping into a dozan NCR missions, meanwhile its a pain to find any work for the Legion. If the legion is ment to be a major faction the player can help, its seriously lacking in content. I've found like 3 quests to help the legion compared to like 20+ missions NCR npcs keep giving me.

Anyone having better luck? I wonder how this game passed the design stage like this. Its nearly impossible to find work as a Legion Agent.

maybe its because the ncr is spread out and the legion is really only in 2 spots ... not counting the soldiers running around like retards

One thing that would be cooler then anything.. would be if you could help CL expand.. and you had quests to take over other towns.

I think this could be easily done.

Ahh... I love the smell of dead NCR soldiers every day... I always disgusted the NCR, seeing as they were the most disrespectful [censored]s in Fo2, despite your grandfather being the sole reason they didn't get completely annihilated by either mutants or raiders. + I think they are obsessed with power, and fail to uphold the standards that a "normal" force that big would have. And the thought of a "minor" faction defeating them is... comforting! So yeah, True To Caesar!
