Know what? That Slaves in Ancient Rome were treated better than slaves in Caesar's Legion?
From what I've seen of slaves so far in New Vegas that's a no-brainer.
But I see your point, lore-wise CL slaves might be better treated.

I'm not a fan of Ancient Rome, the Romans were much more like the NCR (but much more brutal) than they are like Caesar's Legion (except the slavery).

As long as you tipped your hat to the Roman Gods and payed your taxes, the Romans would leave you alone, but if not, they will kill you--all the children and take all the women as slaves, burn everything, and then sow the land with salt so nothing grows there.

All we've seen so far is some captured slaves in a war camp. Making conclusions on how CL treats all their slaves based on that alone would be silly.

ugh you can talk to several people about the treatment of the slaves, including one slave that gives healing powder to you if your allied with CL.

The women are treated about as bad as possible, forced to carry back breaking supplies, forced as six slaves.

I swear, everytime I hear a Legionaire say the "The new slave girls are quite beautiful", I want to put a bullet in his head.

Yes being enslaved was pretty par for the course when standing against Rome and losing. Can't really expect much else when waging war against them and failing. I don't recall reading about Romans salting the earth other after the defeat of Carthage. Where else did that happen?
