Bugs after 1.2.0.315 patch

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 3:12 am

I'm having a problem with Raul.
I never recruited him post patch but i did after the patch.
He wont repair anything for me, he just says he needs to be in his shack, even when he is in his shack. I tried travelling away and waiting, returning but still the same response.
I have'nt tried starting again though, not wasting 87 hours (although i feel like i have already).

The frame rate is still weird. It stops for like half a second every few minutes.

Re-posting from another thread...

My post patch experiences:

?Pre-patch ED-E went back at Primm but attacks me as soon as I enter the shop. This is still the case post-patch.

?The Abandoned BoS bunker is still locked (if this was intentional due to it being used in future DLC, wouldn't they have just hidden access to it in the first place? Seems rather foolish to show content you can't actually access...)

?When I first arrived at The Strip, for some reason it had already been determined that I couldn't take the Mr House route through the story. This meant I couldn't see the Cocktail Lounge on the elevator menu. This means I can't get the last snow globe. This is still the case post-patch.

?I was stuck on Oh Papa due to Melissa vanishing. I can talk to her now and progress, but it appears Colonel Moore has now vanished from Hoover Dam. The quest pointer directs me to her location and I can circle her, but she appears to be invisible. This means I can't investigate the NCR side of things, but at least I should now be able to finish the quest.

?I lost Boone back around hour 80 of my game. I sent him to the Lucky 38 and he never made it there. I have no idea where he is and had hoped that this patch would return him, it did not.

?Since I didn't have the Mr House story as an option I didn't get to the robot that allows you to drop your snow globes onto the display in the Presidential suite. I still have no way of doing this.

?Within 5 minutes of playing post-patch I received the black screen console crash. Although annoying, at least my save wasn't corrupted this time.

I know it is recommended to start a new game or revert to a previous save, but the earliest save I have now is over 124 hours into the game. I really can't be bothered to lose all that hard work

Please please please have a go at a few more retroactive fixes Bethesda

I started this game after the patch, so I didn't have any pre-patch saves. I can't see some computer terminal screens. The usual sounds come on, but no screen. Also, the other day out of nowhere, when I goto pick a lock, a 16-bit looking computer screen pops up, on top of the lock pick screen. I can still see a little bit of the screwdriver handle in the lower right hand corner.

Load times get increasing longer the longer you play; eventually leading to a game but not Xbox crash (If you eject the disk it takes you back to the dashboard.) this phenomena was present pre-patch as well.

Pre-patch I played through 60 or 70 hours with my first character; didn't suffer any save game corruption and only had three or four full console freezes - post patch I've played through about 15 hours with a brand new character, I've had two full console freezes and after a game (but not console) freeze my autosave was corrupted.

Minor stuff: Rad-scorpions still disappear into the ground, first person/weapon arm still moves up the screen and disappears until you swap into third person view and swap back again (minor but annoying.)

Stuff that isn't a bug but is still annoying: Weapons removed from quick-slots when surrendering - In Fallout 3 your weapons were only taken from you once (I think) so it wasn't a problem - in New Vegas every time you come out of a casino you have to remember to quick-slot your favorite killware; if you don't you generally die swearing and fumbling when it all kicks off.

Interface Glitch:

PIPBoy NPC locator glitch:

While inside the Atomic Wrangler building, the PIPBoy's local map displays Boone's location as inside somewhere in the building. 'Big deal,' you might say; unfortunately, it ISN'T where I left him! When I look at the 'world' map, Boone's location is marked at NoVAC, the location where I had actually left him. When I walk to Boone's location as indicated on the local map, the locator slightly migrates outside the building, just behind a wall that I can not reach.

Weird glitch, but not game breaking.

2, there seem's to be a limit on how many games of caravan you can play only about 5 games that's the total win or lose ( as i play the mini-game it makes nosenses as we are in part of the wastland the pritty much run's on gambaling it makes nosesnes to limit how many times you can play any type of game)
This isn't a bug, because people were exploiting Caravan to become rich. Getting 3949483848 caps would make the game way too easy, it's the same reason why there are winning limits at casinos
3, problem's with LVL'ing up won't lvl up for 4-5 min after acheving the reqiard amount of xp
You don't get the level up screen unless there are no enemies nearby.

that's all so far

I've had that too. When you're wearing NCR armor, it resets your rep to neutral. Take off the armor and it will change back after a few minutes. Kind of breaks immersion, unfortunately.

I wouldn't say so, at least as far as it being reset to neutral. If you're disguised with NCR armor your just another grunt, and wouldn't get the 'Liked' dialog about doing a good job and such.

EDIT: Sorry about the doublepost, I'm doing so much on so many windows at once right now that I didn't even realize that this was the same thread.

You need to dismiss Raul as a follower before he'll repair your stuff...even if you are at his shack. I brought him to his shack, dismissed him as a follower, had him repair my stuff (he charged me caps for the repairs), and then recruited him again.

- 188 trading post - talking to Alexander, purchasing items, or attempting to quick travel from this location may crash the game, freezing your XBOX 360
- Carbon Fiber Parts - they still won't reduce the weight of the sniper rifle
- Vendors will not reset their inventories. Blake is frozen just like before the patch. Sold some glitched armor to him. Might be it. Advance Radiation suit is buggy.
- Advanced Radiation suit screws w/ inventory. Could corrupt or bug vendors.
- Gobi Scout Rifle is weaker than stock sniper rifle.
- Abandoned BoS bunker is still locked. Come on, we know about the DLC already. There is a skill book in there.

Just a few that I've noticed so far (game is patched, but is a continuing game, rather than a new one)

  • Stimpacks harm Rex rather than heal him (not present before patch)
  • Lindsay does not acknowledge that Mister Cuddles has been returned to her (returned it, she thanked me and I got a fame bump, spoke to her again later and she asked me if I'd found him yet)
  • Mini Boomers do not have VO's for generic dialog.

Also, not sure if this is a bug, a fix, or an intentional modification, but the default difficulty is significantly easier than it was prior to the patch.

I never had to hand the teddy to lindsay lol. It got taken from me by that guy in that ncr camp near vegas & I completed the mission lol.

& are the deathclaws really set on hard no matter your settings lol I got it on easy & no matter what I shoot at them it does little effect used all my missiles on them & even my mini nukes lol had not much effect. (did eventually kill all of them tho at the quarry but only after using all my ammo.) Or is that a bug

I don't know if this is a post-patch issue, or just one of the many many glitches, but when I try to examine anything on Rex, CTD. On a more general point, I'm not exactly sure what this patch did fix; the game seems just the same eg abandoned BOS bunker still locked, things still sinking into the ground, stuck conversations. Am I missing something?

So before the pathc I was a level 30, specializing in being a sniper, using suppressed sniper rifle and was pretty bad ass, taking out nearly all NPC's with a single shot, always one shot kills with a successful sneak attack, since the patch it's taking me at least two shots in the same scenario to kill fiends and legion recruits, so basically what I'm asking would be has there been a re-balance of sniper weapons or have the associated perks been nerfed?

Well it would seem Blake, the vendor inside the Crimson Caravan compound is bugged severely for me. When I enter the shop window with him and make any sort of transaction and attempt to leave I hear the clicking sound (after hitting the B button to leave) but it gets stuck and repeats the sound like like 10-20 seconds and then completely freezes and I have to reboot my 360. Really svcks since he has quite a few nice weapon mods and apparently has two books that are needed for a side quest (which i cant purchase due to this bug).

I had the same thing happen to me. The clicking sound I recognize as the same sound as when you are moving playing cards into your deck. That is my guess anyhow. I try a couple different things. First, buy small amounts of stuff. This worked. I bought all my gear (ammo, mods, etc. minus any cards), then exited the vendor screen, then went back in to buy the cards. I bought all that he had (maybe around 10), and it froze. The nest time I did the same as before, except I bought the cards individually. Hope that helps. Might not be the correct idea, but should be a start.

Inventory is being pulled down by stacking/invisible items. Some weapons don't show up in quantity until you move or drop the first. And I have 6 recruit helmets that only show one, and they don't show up in my inventory if I try to sell them. Spears still have a stacking problem. I had "4" in my inventory, and when I moved them I automatically had 28! I had collected that many, but they didn't show up in inventory. I believe they did count towards my weight though.

Gun graphics still quirky. The one that raises the weapon to the top of the screen or completely off. Thought that one would've been fixed.

They did fix the container inside of container problem though. Instead of having to move jars of primer, playing cards or boxes of ammo to a follower, or to another container to acquire its contents, it moves them straight to their designated item slot. However, it seems that if you buy too many of these items at the same time, the game can't keep up with the transfer, and causes a crash.

Restarted, did the omerta quest chain again before completing For the Republic, Part 2, and there's still no dialogue. As far as I'm concerned, they didn't fix a thing on that quest.

So far for me the patch has enabled me to actually play the game at last, but every single time i attempt to talk to Tommy Torini at the tops casino or Paladin Ramos at Hidden Valley bunker my game freezes up hard and fast and i have to switch the console off and back on again.

Didn't have alot of time invested in my first character, so started over after the patch - these are post - patch saves approximately 8 hours in. Installed on the 360 HD:

* first person mode from time to time drawn weapon raises up above shoulder, or disappears entirely. Flipping back to 3rd person seems to resolve it until the next time it occurs (reported elsewhere).

* Was doing the Bison Steve rescue mission yesterday and noticed sometimes my Pip Boy just completely disappears. If I turn and face a different direction it will eventually resolve itself. You can use the controls when "hidden" and can hear the screen changes, but cannot see them. Saw this reported on a Wiki, but appears to still be an issue post - patch.

I haven't run into may of the issues many of you are having, but I am tickled to finally be playing this after 2 months.

Those that couldn't catch the monorail... your agility is low or you have 2 much weight to catch up to it. It isn't a glitch or a bug.

Joey

I know it's not my agility, once I enter the platform and even before I can move after loading it explodes. It may not be a glitch for you but it surely is a bug for me. But thanks fir the heads up and what to look for for other gameplay shortcomings ;)

Pimp-Boy 3 Billion interface is skewed. Then again, it could be cocked to the side on purpose (???).
