can we PLEASE get a DLC announcement...

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:37 pm

Perks are terribly implemented. They did the perk system justice in Fallout, but it didn't translate well to TES. Daggerfall had the best character system. When I say "vets" I mean people who have been with the series from the very beginning. Not Morrowind, or Oblivion, but with Arena and Daggerfall. Hopefully they patch in some stuff from Daggerfall and start to right this sinking ship.

i completley disagree.

I love Skyrim, but it simply doesn't have the immersian and or longevity of previous Elder Scroll releases, I'll simply start a differn't game until some DLC comes out...otherwise I'll go crazy wishing and waiting. Lol

OH yeah adjusting sliders is sooo awesome... yeah thats one hell of a magic system... Oblivion had spell making.. it didn't help its peice O'crap magic system... Skyrim's Magic system many fold better then the crap of morrowind and oblivion.. I for one hope spell making never gets introduced back into Skyrim because all it would be is magnitude duration and effect.... so diverse.. I'd much rather have spells fro Midas magic...

I would want them to "surprise-release" it, like one day release the dlc without anouncing it so than it would be a nice surprise . Also that's what Valve should do with the next Half-Life, just put it up on Steam without saying anything, people would go ape-[censored]e

so you can buy a laptop that can run skyrim for 199, the price of an xbox? no, you cant lol...a laptop that can run skyrim would cost well over 600 dollars, and that's talking lowest settings. i don't see how 199 is the same as 600+
I bought my laptop for 450 so I can use it for school and it can run Skyrim perfectly, it also does much more than a console. That's why I switched over to PC only, I can do everything on one device, watch movies, play games, listen to music, the internet. I don't use the laptop as my main thing, but if I want to I can play Skyrim in school.

Personally i rather have another patch first. One that fixes bugged perks. If Dlc is released im definitely not purchasing it until theres other fixes and until i read reviews. I just hope most of the whining hipocrites do the same (the people who make bogus lawsuit threats and rants about unfinished products). If i for one who didnt experience many game problems can wait, then these people can as well

Yes having sliders does open diversity and options and allowed us to tailor spells the way we want, it also allowed us to cross our spell effects so we could create the useful combinations we want. Just because people like you do not understand the system does jot mean it should not be in.

He means him and the couple of people that hate the game. "Vets" usually hate new things.

So, you are suggesting that advances in writing code and putting it all together means that new games should have no less overall size than previous releases, meaning that you expect to pay roughly the same comparitive price for vastly more effort on the part of the developer?

Edit:

Not being narky in saying this, but it is the obvious consequence of basing a view of games on file size. A comparative example to support my point is that the car I have now is faster, more powerful and smaller than the car I had in 1980, and the engine is smaller for better performance.
And newer cars usuall have more features, but that is not the case of skyrim.

I just connected my pc to my tv. Now I have mods, a big screen and I can sit in the coach.
you didnt get what he said di dyou, alot of people think modded version of skyrim is just a bastardized version, completely butchered.

Just because you're jumping to throw more money at them for more broken content doesn't mean the rest of us are. You want DLC, hit the Nexus.

Without modders, Morrowind and Oblivion never would have had all their bugs fixed, because Bethesda sure as hell couldn't be bothered. Think on that one, Chumley.
Thanks to modders, bethesda has gotten lazy and expects them to fix the game for them.

I typically love new things, usually with games newer versions are better but I don't feel that is so with Skyrim, I think the bugs lower the games qualify as a whole, and I had less bugs in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

Beth should just take their time and not worry about rushing DLC out.

Yep. Thats why bethesda loves the modders so much and even gave them their own forum.

They should take their time we don't want a rushed bugged expansion. If Bethesda would have taken their time with Skyrim we would have gotten a game less bugged and it might have been deeper. As it is it feels rushed, unfinished, and its bugged beyond belief, all for the "cool" 11-11-11 release date.

I agree console users get the shaft, it does not help the situation either when there are mindless flocks of people saying its ok that this game is a buggy mess.

Like I said, bethesda has the mindset now " Its ok to make the game have less features, the modders will put them in for us" THe next ES game will be 1.5 gigs, and people will still think that is acceptable.

Yes its a shame too. I remember Oblivion completely unpatched, I played the game like that for a while to because I did not have access to the internet, the game had some slow downs, and that was that games biggest issue.

Then I put in Skyrim thinking the bugs would not be that bad, they die not seem bad at first, then the patches start making things worded it seems they only really fix the quest bugs, ash piles still remain. Patch 1.2 broke resistances and patch 1.3 fixed everything 1.3 broke, but one of those two patches made enemies in front of dungeons stopped respawning. Also one of them patches made my alchemy ingredients stop respawning in places there are random plants that never grow back, there are clusters that never grow back, the plants in towns all of them never grow back. The exploding item bug makes it impossible to decorate your house.

I am ranting not hut I play on 360 without the means to buy a gaming PC right now so I can't fix the bugs myself, I don't know I think Bethesda thinks its ok to slack on their titles now because nobody makes games like them I am hoping that tide shifts soon so Bethesda makes their content great again and properly fixes Skyrim now that Kingdoms of Amalar is out. Then there is Dragons Dogma and Dragon Age 3 in the works. Then they will have open world RPGs to compete with and they can make TES great again. They can fix Skyrim and blow us away with TES VI.

I know they devs of DA said they were going to take some things from Skyrim I did not realize they were going to make it open world.Story is supposedly a strength of Bioware so I wonder how they will do in an open world

I was talking to some people in another thread about them saying it would be, so I was assuming it will be. I am kind of holing they do so Elder Scrolls will have more competition. It might be good with Biowares storytelling ability.

LOL

How do you expect Beth to do mods for consoles?

If anything, it's consoles that held back Skyrim from it's full potential. But let's not bring this into another PC vs console argument. I will add though that mods and the modding community are half the reason I bought Skyrim.
