can we PLEASE get a DLC announcement...

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 2:56 pm

It made a lot of money. So what. It was a failure on every other front. What they need to do is patch in attributes and release free DLC that includes the vast amount of things they've gutted with spellcrafting being number one. Then they can start to add all of the skills, armor pieces, spell types, weapon types, and all of the other stuff one by one until they turn this back into TES.

It has failed a minority(exactly how small is hard to determine) of players who prefer things were done differently. Is it perfect no ,Some may think so but not many.Is it a failure no,Some may think so but not many.

Perks are terribly implemented. They did the perk system justice in Fallout, but it didn't translate well to TES. Daggerfall had the best character system. When I say "vets" I mean people who have been with the series from the very beginning. Not Morrowind, or Oblivion, but with Arena and Daggerfall. Hopefully they patch in some stuff from Daggerfall and start to right this sinking ship.

Daggerfall was un-playable, my Bro got it when it first came out, it is still one of the most Buggiest games...

I have trouble posting links. It might let me, it might not. Spoilers are the roll of a die too.

Almost OT : We were discussing dlc, but it's turned into the price of hardware, and people confusing what they want for what needs to be done.

Actually OT : Large expansion almost certainly means new land. Given the fact that dlc has tended to be different from the main game, Vardenfell > Solstheim, Cyrodiil > Shivering Isles, Point Lookout's Hicksville, Alaska and Zeta, they will probably be working very hard on hand crafting the landscape, making it noticably different, let alone the npc's and quests. Takes time, even though some obviously think it's all so easy, and apparently even 'lazy' devs can do it. All in due course.

Your opinion, in my opinion dagger fall was complete trash, spell crafting was dumb, mix matching armor often looked hideous Skyrim is the best thing that happened to TES it brought a huge amount of players to it more then all the tes games combined....Skyrim is the future of tes expect more like it...

DLC will come in due time, but I hate that Xbox users get the DLC first while the rest of us have to wait for 30 days. Ah well, perhaps the DLC will be buggy and by the time it is released on PC it'll be fixed?

If the Hi-Res texture pack were to be available on the Xbox 360, it would cause that system to chug along and probably crash quite often. My PC is still more powerful than the 360 and it's by current standards rather out of date - I could use the Hi-Res texture pack but the fidelity wasn't as noticeable and the frame-rate dropped for my system. With a 360, if it doesn't crash, it'll probably overheat the thing until it red rings on you.

Patches, fixes? Fixing patches? Surely more important than rushing dlc?
I agree a hundred and ten percent. I think we need out patches to fix the bugs in a clearly rushed game. I would not like to see Bethesda make the same mistake with the expansions they should take there sweet time with them.

Spell creation was the best part of the magic system a seminal part of the system for years. A flagship feature that allowed it diversity and customization seen in so few games today. With it gone the "magic" of the magic system is gone. It allowed us to change our mages how we wised it allowed us to create useful combinations that suited our mages style. Then we lost the old spell types that made being a mage much more fun. Now what we have is the soul crushing status quo of a magic system.

With the diversity of last games with the spells and spell creation and the duel wielding charge and cast magic system of Skyrim the system could have been much better.

i'm sorry but this is just getting to be frustrating. i mean you guys said xbox would get DLC before everyone else a month after release. well, here we are, what, 3 months almost 4 after release and not a single dlc whisper? i don't get it. just at least tell us what you're working on, it's not that big of a deal for you to just tell us...we're your fans we want some new content..

Hi mate!

To borrow a classy line from a Jameson whisky commercial,
What's the rush?

All TES games are horribly buggy, but only Daggerfall had a beautifully simple and functional levelling system. You don't have to grind like Morrowind and Oblivion, and stats aren't reduced to irrelevancy like in Skyrim.

Seti was kind enough to explain to me the functionality of the leveling system of Daggerfall and it got me intrigued so I looked it up, and I must say I would not mind seeing TES return to this.

Hey, you can talk for yourself, but don't talk for others. I know for a fact that a lot of "vets" rrally enjoyed Skyrim.

you rush dlc and you get Fallout 3's "the pitt" incident.

4 patches in 3 days. and they still didn't fix all the bugs

For the vets it failed.

I bought Arena on release day...as well as every other TES game.
I think that qualifies me as a vet.

I have several hundred hours invested in Skyrim and I absolutely love the game.

Skyrim didn't fail at all.
