Class

I can see myself being either a light or medium engineer. It'd be cool to test out a light engineer. Being able to get that tiny bit of extra speed across the map. Helping out my team mates where ever I can.

I still think that one of the coolest abilities for the operative is disguising. I'm sure it would be a lot of fun to mess around with it, but I do have a question about disguising. I know you take on the physique of the person you're disguising as, and perhaps the clothes as well, but what about tats? Are they going to be completely anonymous, or will there be things that will give them away besides their behavior?

the only thing that will give you away is behavior and enemy Operatives can spot you. - I don't know if there will be any upgrades or whatever players besides Operative can get for spotting.

Yeah having a spotter would make sense, I just didn't know if there was an ability to offset the disguise, otherwise not really knowing who is friendly and who isn't would definitely put a spin in the action.

I'm gonna go with the heavy soldier combo, it seems more suited to my play style. :mohawk:

Not a soldier: I don't like being the guy on the front line with my primary objective being "kill."
Not an engineer: I'm not interested so much in the deploy and repair objectives.

I would be either a Medic or Operative.
Medic: I like to help out my team and watch their backs. Also, I adapt well to others play style, faster than they would to me.
Operative: Love the idea of being a sneaky fast character. Very appealing.

Not to say that I wouldn't play as the other classes, these are just my opinions on who I would choose to play as first.

A soldiers primary objectives are supplying teammates with ammo and destroying objectives. he can also increase the ammo capacity of teammates. ANY class can make their prime goal killing - it's those people I prefer not to have on my team.

Yeah you guys gotta understand that this game isn't all about "killing people and blowing up stuff!"
It's mainly team based.
Every class has a job and if they do that job right then it's easy wins pretty much.
Depending if the other team is working together or not though. :P

I think the confusion on this board is people comparing Operatives to spies and rogues or assassins and snipers. When they actually play the game and see that this isn't the case, I think they will die down.

I can't wait to see the typical 14 year olds Operative in the game crying out loud.

I honestly think that the little pre-pubascent idiots that try this game will be turned away sooner rather than later because they can't halo jump and martyr a javelin.

shouldent everyone be able to use silencers? I mean, anybody being a soldier or engineer, or medic should be able to grab a silencer for thier playstyle. the operative has unique abilitys. but I think the weapons should be 100% shared between classes.

Yeah I totally agree. I think that weapon types and obviously abilities, should be the only things that are "class specific." I think that the attachments including silencers, grips, extended mags, sights and whatever becomes available shouldn't be tied to a specific class.

First off, if you see a loadout that is the same as yours, it would be a good idea to shoot it. I am not sure if the run speed of a light operative will decrease to that of a heavy if he is disguised as the selfsame. A slow moving light should be very obvious (in the case a heavy/med operative is disguised as a light body type). Also, if a heavy climbs an obstacle he shouldn't, kill him. If a light body type is avoiding a certain route (because he can't do the jump), shoot him. Also, I'd guess that operatives can't hear requests for medics, ammo or buffs, so if you suspect someone and they don't give you the ammo, etc you need, it wouldn't be a bad idea to shoot them (esp if they completely ignore you), not that I am promoting teamkilling.

When you disquise, you look exactly like the person you disguised as, but you keep your traits - so if you're a heavy, and you disquise as a light, you will still move like a heavy.

So technically speaking, if you see a heavy teammate that's jumping from container to container chances are it's an enemy operative. Can you imagine how funny it would be to see a heavy teammate platforming all over the place? I honestly wouldn't even care if he killed me, it still would probably make me lmao.

why isnt there a class which weakens the adversary? such as, for example a chemist which poisons the enemy or makes the weapons rust

I think I'll just wait for the game before decided to much on what I want to play. It all depends on what I feel like playing as on one particular day.

I voted Medic though I will probably play Soldier just as much. The medic I find fun, running into harms way to try and save a comrade. It is even better if you actually pull it off. And the soldier just because I enjoy playing the grunt.

who sad i was dead ... i may be down but not out :toughninja:
A quick assassination will take you down

But ill always play diffrent class a good player can play all

The the big mis-conception that is making this game already seem operative heavy. Operatives aren't ninja's. You don't sneak around and assassinate or one-shot people like Super-fast Rambo's.

Medic one out in the Splash Damage poll, but I guess that is because medics were pretty good in previous SD games and ET fans know that medics are very useful in hardcoe gametypes.

Buffing isn't an unlimited ability, meaning one guy can't buff the entire team. I think the most one player can do is buff 3 players (2 if he buffs himself).
