I suspect either that or "The Bug" for security.

Engineer here I just love the turret add on like Team Fortress. It's good to secure a perimeter and for Defense Objectives.

ENGINEER FTW!!!

the turret isnt as powerful as you think it is. its less powerful than a normal gun. they are used as more of distractions than as killing machines

You forgot the

And it's not like Operatives can't do anything to help the team. You can hack command posts and turrets (very important), spot other Operatives disguised as teammates, and of course give your team a few seconds of radar every once in a while, not to mention the cool tricks we haven't even heard of yet. They might not be quite as team-oriented as the other classes, but that doesn't mean they aren't useful.

I just don't want people to mistakenly think Operative = super ninja mode.

By the way, I can't wait to blast some random wannabe ninjas in the face with a shotgun. They'll be all like "WTF, I stabbed him, why isn't he dead!?" and then they'll start waiting to respawn. :gun:

I was thinking more towards the buffs that the other classes can give to there teamates. the radar lasts for a very short time. if as many people are playing as opertive as this post says then they will see the disguised enemies and they will hack the turrets. i deleted my vote for operative and changed it to medic

Every class is capable of doing core objectives, meaning every class will at sometime be needed to progress or win a match.

Medics having core objectives is a new thing for SD games - it should be interesting.

They said it in the some of the interviews... the turrets won't be like the dang turrets in Killzone 2, so keep dreaming.

They saying indirectly only low health and stupid people get killed by the turrets. They are distractions

note on turrets (from Rahdo)

the turrets that one can put down aren't anywhere near as strong as a normal player. they can be damaged very quickly (destroying takes longer, but while damaged they're totally off line), they have no collision (or rather, they have 'soft' collision... you can't stand inside one, but you can move through it easily - this is true for collision with players as well)

Player spawned turrets are really best thought of as 'distractions'. they generally don't get kills by themselves (unless someone's not paying attention at all), but they do make the enemy keep moving, to distract them for a few key seconds so you can surprise them. They have no collision (or rather, they have 'soft' collision... you can't stand inside one, but you can move through it easily - this is true for collision with players as well)

Hence why i deemed him a support class.

from what i know now, ill go with soldier, then operative, then engineer

body size depends, i gotta know what weapons, and how much a difference it is on movement.
so ill most likely start off as medium to try most of the weapons

Soldier gets more health too (this was a recent release). http://www.nowgamer.com/features/646/brink-richard-ham-qa?o=2#listing

I chose soldier for the grenades (mainly the 1 hit kill property). Soldiers have area denial grenades (flash/stun/tear gas?) and better potency on explosions.

Medic and Engineer don't fit me, but I may run operative if I end up being pro at the psychology of it (I svcked at spy in TF2).

In the end, the extra health won't help you though: we all go down to zero, same with those grenades. XD

I know I'm going to be using a sniper rifle, because I like what SD is going to be doing with them, and a light body type, to get the most out of the S.M.A.R.T system.

Because of this, I'll probably be using the Engineer, as I'm not good at the mind-games necessary for the Operative, and for Soldier and Medic I'd have to use a close-r range weapon to be more comfortable with taking ground directly. With the Engineer, I can use my rifle and have a turret to back me up. Also I think he may be able to deploy UAVs, I heard some voice clips in the Container City videos that said something like, "Enemy UAV deployed!"
