I managed to pinpoint the exact time in the quest when the corruption takes place and it is repeatable.

After I hand over all the stuff to start the launch and leave that area my save games are corrupted.

Not sure if it matters that I stole them instead of paying. Guess I'll just wander randomly until they patch this.

During the quest, (don't want to put spoilers so i'll be vague) I encountered a problem where any save files in the basemant of the Rocket Test sight will not

load and crash back onto windows saying FalloutNV stopped suddenly.

I loaded a file that worked that was way before I even went to Novac and finished the quest heading towards helios 1. I crashed, tried to load my files and still they

from the load screen to windows.

Yep, same problem with me as well. The worst part is that I played the first day until just before then, so when I started playing yesterday, I played for 6 hours yesterday after that point. All 5 saves after the basemant scene crash when I try to load them. I tested it out, thinking that I might have glitched something at that time, but after a handful of attempts, it became clear. It's absolutely the most annoying, and most game-breaking bug I have ever come across.

YES, SAME PROBLEM HERE. OMG,I've been endlessly wandering around the map, close to exploring most of the landmarks. BLOODY 25 hours of gameplay, just walking around.

This "Come Fly with me" quest is like the main story quest; so without the completion of this, i don't think we can move on in the game. Has anyone tried going to bowler city instead and bypass this main story quest? This bug quest is activated once you proceed to Level 2 of the Test site. What i did was, i stopped at the part where i gave all the items to that fellow. Then i walked off.

The bug is activated only after the "Benny" quest is given, after a few loads, the game crashes with an error msg. I thought the new patch (1.11xxx) would have fixed this. darn.

i dont think its the quest (worked fine for me, i also stole the stuff)

i read that if you take the astronaut armor it can corrupt the game (at least on xbox) - maybe thats your issue

No its not the space suit, I grabbed that right away and my saves with it in my inventory load fine. Its after I give all the parts and head up to the test center that saves start corrupting.

ya i dont think its the suit either i got 3 games saved 2 after the rocket up in boulder city that no longer work and 1 before the rocket while i'm getting the fuel. all of the have the space suit but only the one where i'm getting the fuel loads.

i past this mission fine however i got save corruption right after i died in valut 3 when fighting the motor guy with chain saw he instantly killed with full HP. i killed all his minions yeat he kills me with one hit. the game tried to reload the latest autosave but crashed. i tried reloading before i encountered him but that crashed too even my normal save got corrupted! i had to go back one hour which is very frustrating. Has someone made a savefile util that creates normal saves every 10 minutes?

You know what I'm wondering though? (BTW I took the space suit as well when I first went down to the basemant.)

Welp, I can confirm that just dropping the suit doesn't help. Just completed the quest again then saved and it still corrupted the save immediately after launching the rockets. I did try saving and re-loading after acquiring all the ingredients and that seemed to be okay (I was in the Novac region at the time).

i also wondered if you could just wipe them out to continue the main quest afterall the guy in the dinosaur just says to clear them out he dont say how. even though you would lose alot of exp from their quests.

Same issue here.

I just completed come fly with me. Tried to reload the autosave after entering the gift shop, now it quits to desktop when trying to load any saved game after completing that quest.
Don't know if I can bare trying to load an older game and do this again.

I was doing fine with hard-saving every time, at least that worked...

I wonder if they pre-tested anything in this game.

minor update to my previous post.

ALL saves since this morning's patch will NOT LOAD without crashing to the desktop.
Yesterday's saves (before the patch) will load.

so i have a saved game way before this quest, it loads fine it is this zone, only when i load that saved file it crashes everytime

same here, second patch doesnt fix shiat.. ffs obsidian, this was the last time you pos devs

I think you could if you didn't already clear out the Nightkin from below. The problem I'm facing is that I've already done that and committed to launching them. My last save that was valid they're all wandering around the launch facility in the basemant waiting for me to collect the two items to launch the rockets. I can't get below to kill them now as the game won't let me down the hatchway to the launch area. I'd just like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the developers for the FANTASTIC job of Q/A that went on pre-release. I recently read one of the developer's blogs that said, "We tested killing every single person in the game in one playthrough to make sure you could still complete the game." That's great that you tested wiping everyone off the map but if you're NOT playing a murdering psychopath and would actually like to complete a few quests keeping a few wastelanders, you know, ALIVE it would be nice if the game rewarded you by NOT CORRUPTING YOUR SAVES.

or can we just kill the MANNY guy, and get a move on from NOVAC?? LOL. what happens if we kill the novac guy in the dinosaur..??? and just go straight to bolster city, ??

No you do not have to finish this quest in fact you can get the info you need from Mannys computer in his hotel room. I had the same issue so I just stopped the quest short of giving the guy the rocket parts and went to the ruined city and the main quest line keeps on going.

ALright MAN!! i just tried this...ahhahaa.. it will help to bypass the quest bug.. just kill manny, and search his body for the holotape, perhaps u can even try to steal it, if you see it. but you will lose about 800 - 900 EXP from the "Come Fly with Me" quest..sad but life goes on!!!!

Well, I decied to break into his room and use his computer. Don't need to kill him.

Still, I'm playing in hardcoe mode and killing all those night kin in the rocket basemant was a pain in the butt....

So I'm not sure if this works to get by the quest since i'm starting over (all of my save files are zonked) but i read in other forums
that this will move you on to the next sight
