Just pick Fallout 3 it shouldn't be that different.

PC, because mods will make the game infinitely better and I don't have a PS3 or XBox 360. And a boxed copy.

The only problem with that is that even morrowind still has a very active modding community, and every game has a "Script extender" that simply couldn't work on consoles, so it would be an awful lot of constant work for the developers to port the constant stream of high quality mods. Not going to happen.

There are some console games with mod support, like UT3 which allows you to convert PC made custom maps to PS3 architecture, but Bethesda has been VERY stubborn about this issue so don't hold your breath.

9600GSO will run it fine. The 9600GSO is a rebranded 8800GS, and I have one of those. Runs the game beautifully.

Your poll isnt working, I cannot vote. However, if I could I would vote conso;le as my PC isnt of high enough quality to run FO:NV on its highest settings.

As you can't use mods on the console the answer is clearly in favor of the PC.

And with Steam vs. Box it's even, as Steam offers me ease of use far beyond Box use but I don't really own even a copy of the game and can't resell it to my friends. Until Steam accounts aren't as safe as bank accounts and until they don't offer licence transfer solutions, I'll probably use Steam limited only.

What is the point of playing Fallout without the ability to mod it?

PC, I will be getting the Steam version. My PC should max the game fine. (Also I cant vote)

With that being said I wish to thank you for your cooperation and I will buy the regular PC boxed version.

The thread won't let me vote so I can't add anything to that. However, I do plan on getting the PC boxed version.

PC for all the free mods and patches (and level editor), and for the fact I do not own any consoles, nor I ever will.
Steam for all the benefits of digital copy (no need to swap DVDs to play different game etc) and always up to date version.

The perfect consumer ... no need for customization and extensions only from the original manufacturer

I'm getting this game for the PC (STEAM).

Console because I have a computer that is sub par and I'd like to enjoy my Fallout experience instead of being irritated by the hiccups of my below average computer. :tops:

I especially like the insinuation that modding games is anti-establishment free-thinking and only consumer sheep play vanilla games.

I've always preferred PC gaming but I'm limited to a PS3 by my gaming budget these days.

It's probably for the best, since mods would be an excuse to play even MORE, which I don't need.

Definitely Console version 360 of course, I may pick up the PS3 version sometime after that, probably not though seems like the PS3 can't handle FO3 as well as the 360, I'll barrow someone elses and then decide if the PS3 can handle it. PCs are just to much trouble, faffing about with patches trying to get it all to work then finding a decent OS that works properly, what a load of cobblers, I'm definitely for the plug and play gang. Any problems on the console theres the on/off button ready to go again and plus I don't have a decent machine to play it on and I wouldn't waste the money on said machine. PCs may have better capabilities but they are to much trouble. I have three games consoles I don't need a top spec PC computer.

I find people who senselessly bash PCs using things that simply don't make sense (Seriously? Finding a decent OS? How about Windows, you may have heard of it) are just as bad as people who bash consoles using things that simply don't make sense. You aren't better than them because you're a majority.

Watch out, canyourunit.com is very inaccurate. It often tells people they can run FO3 when they cant. Intel video chipsets will not run the game.

LOL! Yeah apologies I am bit well Tense today. I'm getting sick of my Laptop Screen going black in the middle of Fallout 2 amongst other complaints.

The reality is, the reason I bought Fallout 3 to begin with, was because it could be modded. I got Oblivion about a year after it came out because someone recommended it, not knowing it could be modded to the extend it could be modded... once I got into modding Oblivion, and finding out Fallout 3 could be modded like Oblivion, that's what made me buy Fallout. I've probably spent more time modding the games than playing the games. Without the modding element, I don't think I would be interested in Fallout.
