Is the PC in question just barely able to run the game your playing? Way back in the day when Evil Genius came out I had the same problem. But it was because my Pc wasn't meant to be running the game in the first place. I can't think of any other PC games that I've played and crashed while saving. When it does crash are there any error messages? If it's a Windows 7 system are you running the game as Administrator? Windows 7 protects changes to program files and it can cause issues if your not running the program as administrator. Like for example The Witcher on Windows 7 confuses a lot of people. After installing, when you try to launch the game you get an error that says "Insufficient privileges: you must be administrator when you run this application for the first time." Well running it as administrator don't change anything. So the best way to fix it is change the default installation directory from c:\programfiles\thewitcher to just c:\thewitcher. Taking the program directory out of the mix removes the need for Windows to ask for permission to change files in the program directory and it works every time. I'm sure if you have windows 7 you have seen the pop up messages asking if you want to allow the following program permission to make changes to this computer? Maybe that is whats happening when you go to save. Have you tried to google the problem?

I agree PCs take more effort then just putting in a disk and turning on your console of choice, But the benefits make the extra effort far worth it. The biggest regret I have in gaming (and I've played video games since the TRS 80) is playing Oblivion on 360. For Morrowind I was still only a PC gamer, And I loved playing with the mods. But when Oblivion came out I bought a 360 and brand new out of the box it RROD on me in 2 weeks. I was lucky it happened so soon because I was able to just bring it back to the store and leave with a new one the same day. I ended up RRODing the second 360 before my 250 hours of vanilla Oblivion was over. Well when I finished building my current gaming PC I went to play modded Oblivion and I just can't get into it. Knowing the entire game as well as I already do just keeps me from playing it for a 3rd time. If I would have played it on PC to begin with I would probably still be playing it right now just because of all of the mods. I cheated myself big time. If it's a game that you know will have a a lot of mods why would you want to play it on anything other than a PC? Think of all the free content the PC players will get that you can't get on console. That alone is well worth the extra effort involved in using a PC. In my opinion.

Don't get me wrong PCs are capable of out-stripping consoles but its the hassling around to get things working right etc etc. Having the right Spec to actually be able to run a game or you need this graphics card or that video card etc etc, PCs are better but consoles are just less hassle. I've been very lucky with my consoles, no problems at all really, other people I know have had to change their consoles due to serious problems PS3s and 360s. Thus far both mine are cool and running well

My laptop should have been able to handle the FO 1&2 spec no problem but the OS is hassling me. So my mate give me his PC and I've started playing them on it. But generally PCs crash even when I'm just Word Processing. Well lets see how this PC runs, so far so good

If your PC is crashing when you're word processing, that's either terribly written software or hardware failure. Your PC is not everybody else's. I have not seem a full system crash in about 4 years.

I wish I had your PC, but this one I picked up is holding up right and good

1.Reason of both is because when i bought fallout 3 for steam the G.E.C.K didnt work so i couldnt MOD!!!!! and im am doing a good system with it this is what i will be doing. PC- i will be evil and it will be my screwing around account. Xbox- Good and only do story line then do storyline on hardcoe!!!! i got the munchies in the middle of the battle NOM NOM NOM oh no!!! i got to POOP! POOPS IN THE SUPER MUTANT BEHEMOTHS MOUTH!!!! I played the PS3 version of Fallout 3, and I liked it, and I wayy prefer to use a gamepad then the keyboard/mouse.


I'm really nervous about the game bombing on me like Fallout 3 did but If they managed to stabilize the game then I want to get a PS3 copy. I'm not sure which route to go, though.

(Yes, I'm sure my computer can run it.)
