Consoles are holding back gaming

I would give a Giant Toe's for a MOD to come in and close this. I think our peace has been overly said on the OP's ridiculous opinion. And truthful, almost borders on being a Troll. Oh lord, I just feed a troll.

I've only had a gaming PC 2 months, I'm no elitist. I'm intelligent enoughto see pc is far superior and Consoles svck
Sure, PC's are superior and that's true, but don't act cool and say that consoles ''svck''... Because they don't! They don't ''svck''... Sure they aren't nearly as good as a really expensive monster computer, but they aren't bad either... It's like saying i just have to see the newest Hulk movie just because it's newer and much more advanced than the old one. What if i like the old one? What if i DON'T want to play on a PC?
Ever thought if it that way?

the original cost of the PS3 was over $400. consoles arent going to get any cheaper, the days of the $300 dollar console are long gone.
I was going to mention that in my other post but I didn't bother. The PS3 sales suffered horrendously on the account of its unrealistic price. They barely sold 40% of their $700 model.

The next gen consoles are going to cost €600. My €700 pc runs Bf3 on Ultra at 60fps.

Yeah but you're 700 buck PC will be redundant this time next year... if not earlier.

I used to be a PC adventurer like you, but keeping a PC game ready is just chasing the dragon. Can't think of anything else made anywhere ever that depreciates quicker and harder. Spend a dollar on a PC at breakfast and it's worth half that by dinner time.

I only buy Workstations now (for business and the net)... about every 6-7 years. Just bought the HP Z400 and it would eat Skyrim for breakfast NOW, but by this time next year will be eaten alive by the next big release.

PC's = money pit. After 20 years you'll realise it.... at least that's how long it took me.

perhaps consoles are holding back gaming, but consoles have brought in many more gamers, which translates to more people buying games which = more money for game making companies. As far as tech goes, games made for consoles look good, and run amazing for what they are being made on.

I have everything on my PC, even a TV card. yet I have a normal Tv and an Xbox.

I use the Xbox only for beat-em up games which none exist for the PC (or barely any good ones).

I think the real people at fault here is NOT the Consolers themselves, but the PUBLISHERS OF GAMES. They all have this mentatlity that consolers can`t handle complex games and only want easy, easy easy. Perhaps it`s because they view the console as belong to a less discerning, less mature crowd? Are they right?

Well they seem to think they are and that`s why we see so much dumbing down of games that come from the original Pc to the console world...

That, and there`s still a larger profit made from console sales than PC sales.

And listen to this. The blinded PC elitists still try to spew the invalid argument that console gamers end up spending more than PC gamers in the end.

Oh...my...god.

How are people like YOU allowed on here?
You completely fail to understand that not everybody wants to spend that amount of money on something which is a hobby.

Imagine skyrim as a PC only game? Never would, never will. Deal with it.

i think people need to realize that consoles and PC gaming are tied at the hip. consoles bring in more customer which means more money for more games and every console that comes out is based on technology that PC gamers support the number of years in between consoles. if PC gaming dies then the xbox 720 wont be any better than the 360 because nvidia and ATI would be out of business and they design the GPUs for the consoles. if console gaming died then AAA title releases would slow down dramatically.

How could that be even remotely possible? Maybe they mean on games, because we're not spending it on the hardware?

Stop with the Pc elitist crap. You`re impressing no one. PCs are easy to purchase these days for barely more than an expensive Xbox with all the gubbings.

it just makes you sound jealous.

Er, not really. We spend more, to get more. dikey is wrong anyway, if you know what your doing, you can easily get 2-3 years out of your parts. And even then, you'll only have to upgrade certain parts, not the whole thing. The phenom 965 CPU is almost 4 years old and it will still max any game.

Imagine how much more immense Skyrim could be if it wasn't for those 6 year old pieces of [censored].

Time was put into coding for them when it could have been put into 2 extra guilds
Limits had to be set so the console version are similar
I won't list everything but you cannot say consoles are good for gaming.

PC and Wii should be the only 2 gaming platforms and Wii should stick to what its good at

This thread is ridiculous. You wanna know what's really holding gaming back? Too many whiners.

I have a high end PC and a PS3. Both have their place though I think it's a shame Skyrim came out so late in the time cycle of the PS3 and XBOX360. I had this stupid idea they would develop for the PC and scale it down for the console but instead they released the scaled down console version on PC. Even so, if Sony or MS had a new console coming soon with modern technology Skyrim would have been very different. All I can say to PC gamers is get used to it all big companies develop for consoles now so the games are going to be released with a pale shadow of their potential realised.

I don't know about sales figures but I'm guessing the PC user base is low otherwise they just wouldn't do it. I can't believe they actually want their games to look this bad and be incredibly limited in what they can do. They're not stupid, ergo consoles is where the money is at, simple. There's no point bashing one platform or the other it's just how things are.

The whole console/platform bashing thing is ridiculous. Play on the platform you like and/or can afford and quit trying to justify your decision being better than someone elses. It's one of the more ludicrous "debates".
