If that's the tommy gun in the game, I'll be a little disappointed. But if it's just some other weapon, then it's cool -- I like it, even if the design is a little odd.

Me too but it could just be a weapon mod.

Nah, that's not a tommy gun. There'd be no way to get a tommy gun to load from the top and still be able to call it a tommy gun anymore.

I wanna look. I might be able to ID it. Might have to go grab my laptop so I can actually see it. Unless someone can screenshot it.

EDIT: Found it on YouTube. I'm off to ID it.

I hope it's not. Even with mods a tommy would not look like that.

Looks like an extremely cut-down Lewis Machine Gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Gun

There is a extremely similar weapon. Google: Owen machine carbine
That one is my guess. Super similar body to a Tommy. Put a pan magazine on it and voilà.

Also, I think it's close to the DPM. Look it up. I can't hyplerlink from my iPod.

@Parsons: Thats also a possible. Different body though. I totally didn't think of that one.

Oh, agreed. I'm not too partial to whatever that gun is. I just love trying to ID them. It's fun.

I'd much rather see a Tommy too. I can bet we will.

Oh, thanks for linking to it. I appreciate it.

How do you aim that gun with the clip in the way, and i completely agree I will be very disapointed if this is the unmodified tommy gun.

Look closely at the receiver and foregrip. Don't look at the magazine. It's a Thompson. They just moved the magazine.

more like the DP-28. also you can tell by the stock and the sites that its a highly modified tommy gun, at least the stock is. it is entirely possible for a tommy gun to load from the top like that, with high modification to the breach and the receiver.

Sometimes they use iron sights on the Side of the gun on guns such as the type99 and 96

I believe having a magazine in this position increases fire rate.

It's not a Thompson. It's an American 180 Sub-Machine Gun, which uses .22 caliber rounds rather than .45 ACP rounds. The only similarity is that they are both sub-machine guns with wooden stocks and grips. Even a heavily modified Thompson will only have an underbelly drum magazine, not a flat pan magazine like the American 180 or Lewis gun use.
