[RELWIP] Crafting 300: Swords & Axes of Tamriel, Thread

Shouldn't the Ebony blade be made of ebony? lol

I'm continually amazed by what you do.

EDIT:I love the glass texture, btw. Exactly how I imagined it (seriously. )

EDIT2: The gold on the ebony looks more like a yellow in game for me, btw. What if the raised parts were black and the recessed parts were gold?

That particular unique weapons should, yes, and I do have an Ebony Akiviri Dai-katana texture, but I chose to use the steel one anyway. If you have Nifskope you could change it. :)

0.3.0 is uploaded now. Try that one. There's a new material for gold now. It's less yellow. Tell me what you think of it in-game.

Which ebony weapon were you talking about in particular?

Thanks! The gold should be somewhat less saturated. May be affected by any post-processing mods you're using as well. I personally text them out in sunny daylight.

No post processing mods for me. I actually like the default color palette. I tried no tint and thought it looked cartoony.

New version of Ebony is much better. :D

Swords & Axes of Tamriel, 0.3.1
-Entirely new glass material texture. Finally a glass texture I feel is 'perfect'. :)
Screenshot of my latest glass texture here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/images/2933-1-1325202473.jpg
That's just 4 of 46 total new glass weapon textures. :)

Uploading the file now. Should be up within 10 minutes.

I agree with you. I installed no-tint and I liked it for a few minutes, lol.

Thanks for not using a post processing mod & for being a good tester!

Hmm... I like the glass... but I'm of the mind that it should have the same timbre as the ebony. They're basically the same material, so the effect should be similar... polished obsidian, not metal. I haven't looked at them in-game or compared them to the ebony yet, so I'm just talking about your description of the glass for now :)

0.3.1 Uploaded!!!

If I made my Glass a green version of ebony it would be orichalcum, because that's essentially what that is.

Maybe consider switching them (not one-for-one, but just the "sort of material" that it is) then? I don't think we have any existing TES lore on what orichalcum is, but it's easy to assume that it's a metal; ebony and glass, on the other hand, have been explicitly closely related since Morrowind.

Grabbing the update now Baratan. This mod is going to be fantastic. I use Glowing Ore Veins too and really appreciate being able to find those ore veins.

Closely related in material composition, in-as much as real life coal and diamonds. Even in Morrowind they were drastically different in appearance. Check them out in-game.

Had to wait until Nexus updated so that NMM would recognize the file. It's downloading now.

BASTARDO !!

There i was.. thinking of this ingenious smithing change to make.. half a month later and you beat me to it..

Never mind, i can still make mine as i envisioned it for yours is a little different. Not sure if i should use your textures or not to speed things up (with your permission)

There is also a silver dagger, but there was no in-game item for me to replace for a screenshot.

EDIT: Nevermind; question answered.

Spoiler
Only thing that bugs me is you don't have orcish weapons - I like the Dunmeri stuff well enough, but for a race known for their craftsmership, it seems odd that orcs are so under-represented.

He's done them just not in his replacer set-up.

They're updated in my newest version also. You can use nifskope to use whichever models/textures you want.

I don't intend to sound ignorant or anything, but a couple of questions:

1) Are these simply hue changes or did you use the actual material's textures for the replacements?

2) Are Vanilla textures still in the game and default? What exactly is replaced?

Overall it's an awesome package. That many textures to do makes me wonder what's been done to it.

Sorry for the probably obvious questions. Thanks.
