I woner what the thing that is “much worse then deathclaws out there,” is. Mabey they found a substitute for behemoths in NV.

Why the gecko's of course.

"When I brought up the presence of the deathclaw with Theresa later on, her only response was to mumble something about there being “much worse then deathclaws out there,” followed by what I can only describe as an evil sounding chuckle/giggle. While slightly disturbing, I must admit that there are few things I’ve ever heard about a game from a developer that peaked my interest like that did... ...her response reminded me more of that of a mildly sadistic dungeon master contemplating what awaits her players in the next tabletop session".

Now that's my kind of developer! This was a good review. Thanks for posting it!

Good read. Puts up my hopes that the differences from 3 are even bigger than I had thought.

I like where this game is going.

I will not be seen for the following 11 days.

Fallout 3 was not a difficult game and there was never a point where I felt worried for my character’s life.

I'm guessing he didn't switch it to "Very Hard" mode...

The "very hard" wasn't all that hard. Just made the killing more tedious.

That was never a good choice anyway. Doubling enemies damage and hit points is a sad sad way to make the game harder. It's also much easier to program.

That's pretty clever, surplus ammo types wear down the gun faster. I just hope the developers make it clear that you need ammo piercing rounds for radscorpions for people who are new to the game.

Very Hard wasn't "Very Hard". It was just even dumber. The difficulty in general in Fallout 3 was pretty bad. Thus the reason why I didn't care and played on very easy for laughs.

"I was never a big fan of Fallout 3, and I feel that in many ways it failed to live up to it’s predecessors. However after getting my hands on Fallout: New Vegas I can’t help but feel optimistic about this game. What the folks over at Obsidian have produced has little in common with Fallout 3 aside from the software engine it uses. Fallout: New Vegas looks and feels like the sequel Fallout 2 deserved, and i can’t wait until it finally ships this October."

Best thing I've had from a critic about this game.

Well yeah, the Fallout 3 was got sure was better than the Van Buren we could have gotten, after all Interplay/Black Isles were rapidly losing their minds, and it really showed back than.

The proof: Fallout: BoS

That isn't quite fair, the management was losing their minds, not the talent.

I hope that this fiend that is worse than a Deathclaw is an insect, or a type of gecko. Why? Because bugs and reptiles are cool.
Random thought: What if it was the lovechild of a fire-gecko and a deathclaw?

You do, the Van Buren you would have gotten would have been nothing but disappointment.

I'm content in knowing that Van Buren, by the looks of things, "Already Happened", airquotes. When I say that, with the NCR/BOS conflict seeming to have already been settled and the NCR pressing their thumb directly on the bucketheads, if I have my facts straight.
