I'm not saying the VB Love isn't overpowering sometimes, and indeed when people talk about it, it sounds like they're talking about Gospel, and the Holy Grail of gaming. But, hey, the stuff that survived looks good...May as well use the material.



It was canceled because the company was going bankrupt, hence shutting down production. Not because the game was crap. It may have been crap, may have been gold. Who knows.

The reason it was a disappointment was because we never got it in the first place. The reason why Bethesda's Fallout 3 is superior than Van Buren's was simply because, we got it.

Now, if Van Buren was finished that would be a whole different story.

I'm kind of sick of everyone bagging on Fallout 3. Your all acting like the game was an abomination to the series and that it doesn't deserve to be a part of the cannon in Fallout 3. Lets get one thing strait : Fallout 3 is an amazing game that deserves some credit for reviving the Fallout series and exposing it to a new generation. Enough with the degrading of Fallout 3.

It's a very flawed game that wasn't true to a lot of things in the franchise. No one gets on its case for nothing.

I'm with you on this. If it wasn't for Bethesda and Fallout 3, Fallout probably would have been a dead franchise, or would have been many many years before the Old Boys at Obsidian decided to try and revive it. We should be happy it was made. And it is an amazing game that introduced a new generation of gamers to the franchise, whereas as it was it was very closed-niche group that knew of the classics that you only heard about. If it wasn't for Fallout 3, they never would have re-released the classics at all, introducing new gamers to THOSE games.
I do get sick myself with everyone getting on their knee's in front of the classics and taking a hammer to Bethesdas work.
Was it perfect? Hell no. But tell me of a game that IS perfect.

I understand that. I have the PS3 version, I know of its glitches. That being said, you people don't need to treat it like it was absolute garbage. It wasn't.

:foodndrink: Agreed I've played the originals, and i still LOVE love fallout 3. Sure, it had its flaws, but lets be honest when you play FO3 you end up loging more hours without bordom than any other game. Plus FO3 revived the seiries with a great hit.

The use of the words would and could imply heavily that were talking about what Van Buren could have been if it was made. If you did not mean that, then it'd make more sense to remove those words entirely. But no, you left those words in. Why?

Indeed, in fact I didn't experience many of the freezing errors until I heard about them here(and yes, I did have the game since release day), so I say I have been jinxed

Well just from looking at the animation and everything. I like Fallout 3's animation more so, maybe the story would have been better who knows, but I liked Fallout 3 so...
