Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #20

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:55 pm

Bear with me here; What if there was a possibly for Alduin (Or another dragon) to be born in to the body of a human?

It wouldn't exactly explain the title "Dawnguard" but it would explain the glowing dragon eyes and the menacing look.

What if it involves a "counter-Dovahkiin" from a different dimension? What if Akatosh decided to create an epic foil of our Dovahkiin in order to punish us for vanquishing his first-born son?

It'd be a possibility if that didn't require the completion of the Main Quest.

Pete isn't gonna give any hints about the dlc today.
He's not going to give any hints before E3 AFAIK. I think they want it to be a surprise when they reveal it there.

Anyway, I'm personally not seeing anything in the Dawnguard promotional image that is suggesting one thing or another. To me, it just looks like a closeup of the Dovahkin's face and his eyes are glowing yellow for whatever reason. It's likely that it may be a continuation of the main questline of some kind like Tribunal and Knights of the Nine, though I can't really see them doing an expansion that requires the player to complete the MQ in order to gain access to any of the new content, though. That is what they did for KOTN.

I could see it in at least one of the dlcs

I'm sure we'll get at least one hint at the very least before next month.

i didn't think that crossbow bolts had feathers.

What I think it is is a new region. One of the things that came out when Skyrim was first out was that there was a lot of N Tamriel in the actual game, you can't get there w/o cheating, but it seems rather odd to put all that in if no one is supposed to see it.

Or maybe it will be Falmer.
It's all untextured, it's just there for something look at over the mountains, instead of the end of the world.

I don't think that is out of the question.

Broken Steel, Tribunal, Knights of the Nine... Etc...

Or. What if Alduin's Soul has now inhabited a human and we have to fight him again?

That's exactly what I'm saying.

What if Akatosh re-birthed Alduin in to the body of a human?

I know, I just don't think they would make the first DLC have requirements to whether or not you can use it right off the bat.

Anyone think that the scratches on the helment mean we are getting armor/weapon degradation back?

You will be able to http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/imageshare/images/4388999-1335915590.jpg enemy players in the upcoming DLC or patch, I strongly believe this.

So if you give a really really good hug, they turn on fire, so happy.

Probably. It just might not be coming from them directly. We actually already have a few hints of what the DLC may include.

No, i mean Alduin just faded away after we killed him. he could have gone somewhere in time to heal up by eating souls only to go into the body of someone else. i'm not saying Akatosh has anything to do with it.

It's true even the Grey beards pretty much say he isn't dead because you didn't absorb his soul.

Its the same scratches, same helment and same armor in all of the pics of him since the start. It is just mirrored, for some reason.

Nope. Bethesda has said it many times before and after release that no weapon/armor degradation was a design decision. Just like not being able to turn off killmoves or forced 3rd person view for horses. Don't think they'll ever back off from their original decision. Sad but that's it :/
