Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #22

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:25 am

doesn't the Nerever get corprus disease during the MQ? that would mean he is immortal.
Yep.
I'm not sure what Nerevar actually translates to, but considering that the Dragonborn is referenced nowhere in the game/lore of Morrowind, I'd say that it's a safe bet that Nerevar =/= Dragonborn.
That I agree with - though the Lost Prophecy has these lines

"But Dragon-born and far-star-marked,
Outlander Incarnate beneath Red Mountain"
Which are probably responsible for all the "Nerevarine was Dragonborn" theories - though it's meaning was that he'd come from the Empire...

No.

Dovahkiin = Dragonborn.

Besides, Official canon says that the Nerevar went on a grand adventure to Akavir and hasn't been heard from since.

That doesn't mean it's the same Dragonborn.

In that context, it means he was born in Cyrodiil. An outlander. Cyrodiil's banner shows the schematic represantation of Akatosh - the dragon god of time.
Dragons are central to cyrodiilic culture.

I hope the neravine is a Dunmer if we ever do see him canon. And not an annoying one like Karliah.

i think in canon each hero should be the race of the province. So Neravarine is Dunmer, Hero of Kvatch is Imperial, Dovahkiin is Nord

Yes he does. i didn't realize it made him immortal though.

St. Nerevar Indoril was one of the last Chimer along with Vivec, Sotha Sil, Amalexia, anda Varyn Dagoth. Nerevar was champion of Azura at that time, and she extended an offer to the rest of the tribunal but they spat in her face, so she cursed the chimer by turning their eyes red and skin dark and left the tribunal alone as a reminder of her power.

Chimer had the same life span as the other elves so they lived for a while but weren't immortal. By using the Heart of Lorkhan they obtain temporary godlike power including immortality. When Nerevar learned of this he confronted the tribunal and they killed him himself in cold blood and alameda bis death on the battle for red mountain against Dagoths forces.

By default the Nerevarine is a Dunmer Male, The Nerevarine got corprus during the MQ, he then got it cured with the help of the last Dwemer in the Corprus House. I don't believe Nerevar went to Akavir, there is no reason for him to go there.

Yeah, it's explained better when you talk to the Mage that is caretaker to the last living Dwemer (who also has Corpus disease btw).

I realize that i just didn't know it made him immortal. i'm only up to the part in Morrowind's MQ where you're breaking into the prison filled with Ordinators.

Also eeing the last living Dwemer was cool.

would love to see new land mass, but did todd, not say that future dlc would be making the game better rather than bigger.

honestly the quest lines and dialog options are in MUCH need for spicing up also more weapons and spells and cloths and armor will be nice

they can leave the new land mass for the next expansion skyrim: return to red mountain :D

I just hope they didn't spend all this time making a single faction story with three or for main quests filled with 90% "radiant quests"

Radiant quests serve no purpose in Skyrim unfortunately. At least in previous ES games, random quests raised your faction to unlock faction quests and or main quests. In Skyrim it's, "Well if your that bored, we got random junk you can do for no apparent reason"

Thieves guild radiants improve the guild itself in skyrim

I'm 99% sure this DLC Is about the resurface of the Falmer, lead by the snow prince, who's body was PRESERVED in Solstheim, so it's easy to resurrect him. we all know falmers are good with magic, much like the volikar they are pros with frost. snow prince = Valikar vampire, valikar will be weak to silver crossbow bolt

and what looks like an animation for his "burning ascension" which could mean we are either helping him and after we finish all the quests he goes peacefully or that we are fighting him and he goes out like a *****.

either way at least we get to talk to him.
