Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #22

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:31 pm

Had an idea for new dlc, based around the 'great collapse' which is rather mysterious and unexplained.

So at the end of the main quest, you have the option to sell your elder scroll to the college librarian, this dlc could be started when that's been done. Maybe something/someone is attacking winterhold or areas of skyrim that is linked to the great collapse.

So you travel back in time using the elder scroll and experience what actually happened, who was to blame and how to defeat this new enemy in skyrim. I'm thinking this could be linked to one of the daedric lords, maybe a weapon was lost in the great collapse that can be found by traveling back in time..

What do people think?
elder scrolls dont let you travel through time they let you see through all dimensions revealing the unrevealable, but i like ur idea
Have you not played the main quest?

Also it's not like this is real physics, this is some crap the developers made up, make your own stuff up.

Everything in the picture points to it being in Solstheim or/and Morrowind to me. Many Dunmer moved to Solstheim after red mountain erupted. Dovahkiin in the picture has Red eyes like a Dunmer, it also just happens to get released on Morrowinds 10th anniversary. Hmm...

I don't think I'd like time travelling to be honest, I would much rather be playing something new with my character than playing some guy thats long dead reliving something that is of little interest. they can easily just tell you what happened instead of milking a DLC out of it.

Stormcloak Heavy Armour.
Khajiit marraige options.
Some place to fight like the Oblivion Arena but a more run down Skyrim verison. (Maybe in Mortal to give you more reasons to go there)

Maybe Beth's idea was to see how much their community could speculate off of one picture?
Maybe Beth's idea was to introduce the DLC at E3 at that picture is just a nice way to say "Wait till saturday"

I wonder if they will be doing anything from the Psijic Order in a future DLC or future Elder Scrolls game.
Spoiler
Psijic Order is from the College of Winterhold quest line. If i remember correctly, the representative said that: 'We will meet again soon.' Or at least something along those lines, so i was wondering if it could be release along with this or a future DLC.

Who is to say the scrolls can't allow you to move literally back in time?

Atleast bethesda is being subtle with its DLC.
Obsidian happened to leave spray paint marks everywhere which were named in the files as:
HONESTHEARTS
LONESOMEROAD

I think they should have a dlc where the Dragonborn meets Nerever. Lore wise the Nerever should be a Dunmer. since he's a Dunmer he could have easily lived the 200 and some odd years that separate Skyrim and Morrowind.

Are you color blind, haha just kidding, but I think you are mixing up the Altmer and Dunmer. Dunmer have red eyes and Altmer have yellow eyes, but I think we are going to Solstheim.

You know... I've been playing since the launch day, and I finally got around to having my character really exploring the city of Morthal.

after wandering around Morthal for two days in RL worth of gaming... I have to say that there is a severe lack of stuff (shops, story elements, etc.) in Morthal. Maybe that's why I never really felt the drive to go there other than on Dark Brotherhood assassination contracts...

If any city could use a good "beefing-up" with DLC, Morthal has my vote.

I think they should have a dlc where the Dragonborn meets Nerever. Lore wise the Nerever should be a Dunmer. since he's a Dunmer he could have easily lived the 200 and some odd years that separate Skyrim and Morrowind.

The Nerevar doesn't have to be Dunmer. Remember, due to an unfortunate disease contraction, he's immortal now. 200 years would be nothing to him.

No.

Dovahkiin = Dragonborn.

I'm not sure what Nerevar actually translates to, but considering that the Dragonborn is referenced nowhere in the game/lore of Morrowind, I'd say that it's a safe bet that Nerevar =/= Dragonborn.

Besides, Official canon says that the Nerevar went on a grand adventure to Akavir and hasn't been heard from since.

I am no big lore buff but with a quick google search and looking on the Skyrim wiki it would seem to be implying that the Snow Prince was "owned" by a child

Food for thought:

Translate Dovahkiin, You get "Dragon Born"

Now translate Dov-Ah-Kiin. From this you get "Dragon-Hunter-Child"

doesn't the Nerever get corprus disease during the MQ? that would mean he is immortal.

That's true. but he/she is the champion of Azura so a Dunmer would be more likely. maybe they would have us create the Nerever in our game to meet if such an expansion would be made.

I think Nerever translates to The Reincarnate of St. Nerever.
