Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #28

Both sides of this argument reminded me of Elmer Fudd in his Viking helmet with a spear singing; "Kill the Wabbit, kill the wabitt, kill the wabbit..."

Does Elmer Fudd have a problem with the letter R?

You know... unlike some who argue against dwemer-based DLC, I'm all for it. Imagine, new dwemer ruins, new dwemer construct enemies... And, of course, new dwemer artifacts to find.

Even better? Throw in many more variations on Dwemer Armor. I loved how steel armor had multiple options for armor design... why don't others?

No. Werewolves are just that. Werewolves. Animals. Mindless beasts. They shouldn't be warriors. They should be just as folklore depicted them.

And we do have werewolf followers; Aela, Farkas, Vilkas.

Does those followers turn?

I'm thinking we may have a dlc that takes us to Stros M'kai in Hammerfell. It is mentioned a few times in the game. Bandit's sometimes sing a song about it. And Astrid from the DB says that the Janis Root grows there. Stros M'kai has more Dwemer Ruins and underground catacombs to explore. And the Necromancer's Tower. And an island off the coast known as The Spine. And of course there is N'Gasta island where the Sload Necromancer is from. So we may see Sload's make a return if we do go to Stros M'kai. It is surrounded by the Ogres Tooth Mountains. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Stros_M%27Kai

The Ogres Tooth Mountains are supposedly barren and empty except for those wishing to hide. I think we may see some Thieve's Guild or Dark Brotherhood growth their if that's the case in the 4th Era. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ogres_Tooth_Mountains

With the small settlements, the one major town and the Nomadic tribes, the dlc would likely be the size of Point Lookout.

Not to mention that Stros M'kai is home to Goblins and Trolls. We may have Goblins back as well. And maybe some sort of Desert Troll? As a Frost Troll would make no sense in the Hammerfell desert.

Wouldn't that also bring in Raiders and such from the mighty Alik'ir Desert just off shore on the Mainland?

...you do realize liches are NOT created from contracting a DISEASE, right?

liches are self-created by power hungry necromancers who desire immortality by performing dark rituals to remove their souls and become living dead with incredible magical ability.

its not a disease like vampirism and lycanthropy.
Oops, yeah just realized that(thanks), anyway... its weird why we can't contract any disease from draugrs, instead seems that the traps cause random diseases.

I`d agree with you on this one.I`ve seen an heard rumours surrounding Hammerfell as a possible DLC location by an ex Bethesda worker ( or so they claim ) http://vehq.net/skyrim-dlc-info-leaked even without these rumours, adding Hammerfell makes perfect sense, and there is plenty of clues scattered throughout the game to suggest it as a dlc contender.

I am too, but who knows? Look at TESO, few months ago we got very vague rumors of a TES mmo and from a very vague source. Now WAM! TESO announced two months later, and that vague info matches up with what was revealed! So anything can happen now. That's what I taught myself when it comes to these forums.

But personally, even before the Dawnguard announcement and those rumors of mounts, I always had a sort of Redguard/Hammerfell/Yokuda vibe from the name Dawnguard when it was discovered as a trademark by Zenimax.

Time will tell. And time can be a jerk sometimes.

Besthesda can maybe make a different breed of wolves. In some of the dungeons in Skyrim, there are some wolves that are bigger then the regular ones you see in the woods and are almost big enough to be mounts.

I guess they could say that Mages have been working on the Wolves to make them bigger and stronger. Which in turn would make them bulkier. And somehhow tamed them with magic or something.

I don't believe this leak... The Dragon are back for less than a year, and a guild has already mastered the ability to tame them? Seriously, taming Dragons? We are about intelligent beings, thinking of themselves as superior to mortals. They'd probably prefer to die rather than to obey ! Enslavement would be a more accurate word... Besides, we now know that the first expansion won't be called "The Riders of Hammerfell"...

Maybe it'd be a http://uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Monsters#Snow_Wolf, which is possibly bigger than average, and is said to be able to use frost magic? Or maybe it'd be a Daedric, presumably massive http://uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Monsters#Hell_Hound ? Since they love lava, they'd fit in Skyrim's Volcanic Tundra, in my opinion...

they wouldn't do it justice. unless they can get the sand to behave like it did in uncharted 3, i think they should leave that for next gen.

now, whats this about snow elves and crossbows? O_o

has there been some info mentioned that i missed out on?

Well, some people have datamined (some weeks ago) the last update and found http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1331322-unofficial-skyrim-dlc-discussion-thread-8/page__view__findpost__p__20684799 ! But this is no info, as nothing is confirmed yet. (It's sometimes nice to recall the origins of some of our speculation... )

im hoping more conjuration spells are added... i mean, there are no special perks for dremora, so im sure they could add more daedra summons without having to mess with the skill tree.

i would LOVE to see xivilai return, and spider daedra, the daedroth, clannfear, maybe golden saints and dark seducers?

i loved conjuration in past games, but now it seems like the only useful spells are the ones you can use to bring back level 40+ vampire lords after ya kill them.

im really hoping spears are added in dawnguard... but i am doubting it... since that likely WOULD require some change to the skill trees.

but why bring back crossbows, and not spears?

i think crossbows would require just as many changes made to the game.
