Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #34

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:19 am

So, a while back someone made a thread asking whether or not the DLC's will have be accompanied by a high-res texture pack for PC like the base game was when the Skyrim workshop was released on Steam. Do we have any further information on this yet? Will Dawnguard be getting a high-res texture pack?

They might just include higher quality textures with the PC version. They have an extra month anyway. But we don't know.

Anyone recognize the voice actor?
Sounded a little bit like Sean Pertwee.

There was a bit where a falmer like creature is killed with an axe in an icy area. Will the Snow elves/ their Prince star in the dlc or is it just a form of vamp?
Damn that teasing vid is making me squeal like a little girl. Thank God I also have Skyrim on Xbox. Hope it comes out in June.

IMO, they will probably play some role. They did feature in those files found in the patch, after all. We may hear more about it later.

I really hope we meet Molag Bal the same way we met Dagon/Sheo/Nocturne. I really want to meet him.

What I don't understand is people saying "more" vampires as if we have already had a lot of content for them.

Looks great. I didn't see any spears in the trailer so I'm hoping they're also introduced alongside the crossbow.

The trailer is almost definitely talking about a new character and not one you've seen.

She is a normal, Skyrimic, Sanguinare Vampiris vampire. These.are either Volhikar, or something completely new.

Ugh, what? Most vampire NPC's are females. Babette, Sybille Stentor, Alva, Layette, Hert. And all the other vampires are mostly female save for the Vampire Masters.

Looks like you can shout and use magic as well while in wampire form!
That looked more like a racial power than a shout to me.

I think it is a falmer and considering the Snow Prince files, there must be a tie in. I wonder whose side they will be on. I have a feeling they will inhabit the area that shows the diving dragon and what looks to be a frost giant.

Buffed up werewolf transformation, make it last a little longer or make it a toggle with hircine's ring on, to counter balance the cool factor boost vampires are getting, nothing svcks more then being transformed back in the middle of a fight because you can't feed without taking a few arrows to the face and yet you transform back into a naked dovakhin just to take a few arrows to the face.

I hope they don't do the same stupidity with vampires, so you only transform for like 30 seconds at a time and revert.... It is really rather stupid gameplay wise, and Lore wise.
Massed arrow fire is supposed to be able to take down werewolves. Otherwise, it would be game-breaking and overpowered (which is even worse than being UP.)

You think they're actual lesser daedra? Of whom? Molag, perhaps?

I REALLY hope this vampire lord stuff actually has some basis in lore, and that all of this isn't just something they shoehorned in because they thought it "sounded cool." We'll see.

I'm 99% sure it's Molag Bal, the realm looked like Cold Harbour and the alters and such in the vampire lair looked like the shrine to Molag bal in Markarth.
