Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #5

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:58 am

I understand the pre-existing framework for the 360 online lends itself to the beta test, as well as the exclusive timed release, but if the beta idea was born from the ps3's buggy release and ongoing issues, why were we cut from the possibility of beta testing? Or is there a planned ps3 beta as well?

PC gets the beta patches because its easy to deploy them. 360 gets the DLC beta because of the times exclusive crap. Whats left to question?

Because microsoft is greedy and throws money at people to get "exclusives" that is how business works.

The beta is only 2 weeks. I feel sorry for you guys having to wait so long, but this is what happens when microsoft starts sticking thier noses in.

It appears ps3 users will never stop crying.

Microsoft gets it because microsoft paid. Us pcs and ps3s have to wait, and previous problems with any system are no longer relevant.

Actually Bethesda does small betas for a lot of this sort of stuff, it's just rare for it to be done with a public sign-up (the last time was Bloodmoon). In the past the betas have all been on the PC, but with the timed exclusive that would have likely been difficult to manage.

I think that most bugs aren't specific to one console so it really doesn't matter what platform beta testing is on as long as it gets done.

I play on xbox 360 yet I also know ps3 has the worst of the bugs.

PC gets beta patches because we can access them easily through steam.

Xbox is only getting this because it was an agreement that Beth had with Microsoft since before the game launched that they would get the first DLC before anyone else. It is only a convenience that keeps in check with that agreement that they get the Beta to test out.

You call them greedy but then say its how business works? It was a smart idea for Microsoft. Sony could of done the samething but they decided not too.

Uh,No they said next week,And beta testers arent allowed to answer these questions or anything like that :/

That is because Bethesda will hunt you down and Sew you up in a Jail Cell.

P.S. For those who think I Mispelled Sue, I didn't. I intentionally used that word.

I agree.
It's just the nature of games these days. I think Sony has paid for timed exclusives for games before.

It's purely business.
I understand why PS3 players get annoyed at 360 getting DLC's earlier on a few different series.
The reason is purely that people on xbox pay for online, majority of PS3 players don't. Microsoft does it so that people on xbox feel the moneys worth it.

And then microsoft puts Advertisemants on the dashboard.... That is just unjust and unfair.

I think it's purely due to the ease bethesda has setting up the beta. As one of the members said it is easy to set up beta on xbox and pc due to the way their platforms work and how the company behind them works. I don't think it's just because of the timed exclusive thing because really they could introduce a ps3 beta afterwards if they wanted to, I think you should be directing your question at sony tbh :/

The bugs are the same for every platform, the reason why ps3 doesn't get the updates to fix them is because Sony Doesn't approve them for a long time, microsoft approves them relatively fast, and PC has the option of playing without them as they can download them. So if the PS3 community would stop bickering at the studios for not releasing patches and realize that the reason they don't have patches is because The parent company of the console hasn't approved them. So stop complaining at Studios and start complaining at the real reason you don't have a patched game: SONY.

Like everyone else stated business is business. If we should have to pay for online then we should get better deals and exclusives simple as that. But I do feel for you guys having to wait a month or more, maybe watch some videos (youtube)?
