Dawnguard Beta Rejection Group Thread #2

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:24 am

People care too much about the beta. I'd much rather play the fully ready version to guarantee an awesome experience. Why mar my playing with having to check out glitches? It would ruin the immersion.

Are people really that upset about not getting into the beta?! Upset enough that somebody needs to tell them to "get over it"?
I don't even care that I didn't get one. When they were sending them out I was hoping to get one. But it's not like I can't get the DLC anymore. I can still buy it when it comes out. Which is on the 26. I don't see why people are making a big deal out of not getting one.

Go back to playing Fallout: New Vegas.

Wait I like this answer better than mine. Can I change mine?

Same here. I don't want to risk some bug that could make my game saves corrupted and unuseable.

Yeah, didn't you see the beta threads? All 33 of them... for people who didn't get it, it was split between the people who were fine about it, and have an attitude like this...

People care too much about the beta. I'd much rather play the fully ready version to guarantee an awesome experience. Why mar my playing with having to check out glitches? It would ruin the immersion.

and people who were excessively annoyed or disappointed... though most were alright. Personally, I agree with the above statement.

Remember to delete your forum account too lest you become a zombie troll.

On a - more serious note. What platform are you on? I am sure if you are on a console they are aware of the problem and a fix is enroute- if on PC your broken game is likely user error. So sit tight- Or be a farty pants and return your game.

LOL... awesome.

I have two characters ready for the DLC already, my 59 Dunmer for the vampire side, and my 48 Nord for the Dawnguard. So I'm gonna go back and play Oblivion for a bit to break the monotony. Or maybe start up New Vegas again since after finishing every DLC it decided to glitch ONE OF THE LAST MISSIONS so I couldn't actually finish the game. So maybe I can go finish that finally.

That won't bring back all the quests he's completed in the way he completed them and all the unique items he's collected. I know the crushing feeling of losing several hundered hours of gameplay and I myself am not looking forward to doing it all over again, I liked my old save.

However your glitch really doesn't seem that bad, just use magic and melee weapons, I certainly wouldn't start all over again simply because I couldn't use bows, I'd wait for a fix.. I had to restart as I was getting lockups every 5 minutes and I just couldn't enjoy the game anymore.

Yeah. This happened to me more than once with New Vegas, the Yugo of video games. I still have my copy though. I always start it up every 4 months or so with fresh hope that it will make me happy but it isn't long before the crippling bugs turn me off again. I don't blame the guy, but I have yet to post one single comment on a New Vegas forum about how crappy that game was built. What would be the point?

NV wasn't even made by Bethesda though so that didn't really bother me. Maybe I'm wrong but Oblivion seemed nowhere near this buggy when I played it. I never got lockups playing Oblivion that forced me to restart they were that frequent, that's the only major problem, the lockups, I've had plenty of other glitches as well but none I can't handle.

That's really odd. I'm on Xbox and have racked up 200+ hours of gameplay. I've only had one quest bug (one that I didn't really want to finish anyway) and one freeze. I consider that pretty stable. What platform are you playing on?

Xbox as well. In saying that the playthrough was started on 12/11/11, so I started it with patch 1.1. Hopefully my new game will be more stable, I'm also going to severely limit the amount of stuff I store in chests and make sure not to leave things lying around, my playime was also 302 hours.

I'm not a big fan of playing betas that have a relevant storyline. For me at least it cheapens the indented product by making you become aware of the plot before it's fully matured.

Ah. I started on 12.25 which would have been patch 1.3, I think. I also am pretty anol anyway. I always put everything into chests (except armor suits, weapons on racks, and my Krosis mask which I leave on my alchemy table to so I don't forget to use it). This last playthrough I started collecting human skulls and have been piling them up in Uthgerd's fireplace though. I don't know if leaving things lying around would be the cause of your problem though.

If they do, I hope it's a slider.

I read somewhere that there'll be a guy in The Ratways who can change your appearance.

I have my Nord Crusader character I likely will use for my first run in Dawnguard on wait. Not because I am tired of him or "save" him for Dawnguard, but because I have gotten my hands on the Mount and Blade collection so I am playing that at the time :D

I had a LOT of stuff in my chests though. Literally hundereds of books spread throughout my 5 houses as well as unique items and journals. I also had roughly 200-300 health potions on me, maybe that had something to do with it.

Holy crap! 200 - 300 health potions? How can you even carry that many? I see you on the book claim. Same here.
