Dawnguard DLC Discussion - Thread #36

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:36 pm

Armored Trolls are treated as companions and have to be hired.
There are some more things you could possibly add to the info. New enemies. Bonemen. Wrathmen. Boneyard keepers.

One of the best news I have heard about Dawnguard ! I hope they have some dialogue. And that we'll discover more about them.

Actually, I have always thought that some trolls were intelligent beings with some social abilities. They have been involved in clanic structures (in Oblivion, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Troll#Trolls), they have had leaders (A http://www.uesp.net/wiki/OBMobile:The_Troll_King appeared in Oblivion Mobile, and a place called Frostheim, supposed to be located near Dawnstar, was once home to a http://uesp.net/wiki/Dawnstar:Bestiary). They have been shown to be able to use, and possibly even craft weapons (http://uesp.net/wiki/Dawnstar:Chung. See also the Troll warhammer and the Troll war axe http://uesp.net/wiki/Dawnstar:Weapons. Trolltooth war axe and Troll cestus are also mentioned here). Besides, a troll cestus would be great for those who rely on hand-to-hand, don't you think? Hope they introduce it too...

I hope that some troll weapons will be reintroduced, and that we'll be able to discover more about them. Maybe they have some culture? Even an embryonic culture? Some troll questgiver would be so awesome too. Just imagine being asked to take part in some ceremony where a troll female is transcended and becomes a new Udyrfykte matron (first idea that pops in my mind) !

Anyways, I hope we'll have some fascinating lore and backstories to explain how they came to be allied of the Dawnguard...

Anyways, the armored trolls look amazing to my eyes !

Trolls can speak English. This was seen in Oblivion http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Easter_Eggs They don't speak English well but it's understandable.

This further substantiate my opinion about trolls, although I never found this poor troll. I am so sad for him. :(

Also, I hope they'll add ability to use Troll teeth to craft weapons, and http://uesp.net/wiki/Dawnstar:Armor.

Forgot about that. There was another reference to that in skyrim but without the scrawled note.

Edit : err, anyways, I'll wait for written summaries, as my understanding of spoken English is too poor (and even more when I'm tired) :(

Now if only the fullmoon/s would make us force change into a werewolf, kinda miss leading background for the perk tree showing a full moon when it has ZERO effect on it in this game

We don't know that yet. There are new things for werewolves that may not just be perk trees, such as a new way of contracting Lycanthropy. Maybe we get Lunar transformations now.

Ok guys, is there anything further to discuss?

I believe this is all the info they are probably willing to give us for now.

Now just to wait and see If I get in the beta.

I hope that we'll get some legendary crossbow. As far as I know, crossbow are the only type of weapons that never got any "true" named artifact in TES game. Don't you think it'd be nice if we had some unique, nicely enchanted crossbow with some lore around it?

Has it been confirmed yet whether the armor we see Dawnguard members wearing is heavy, light, or both?

That's gonna be even worse when we don't get in and realise the only way we are going to get more info is waiting til 26th of June.

Seems to be a mixture. Some appears to be heavy, while the red one appears to be light.

June 26 isn't that bad. It's less than three weeks. Personally, I have a busy month and that time is going to fly by. But I'm on PC, so I'll be waiting another month or so.
